Televised football

I have just worked out last week, between them the BBC, Sky, BT Sport, ITV and Channel 5, have spent 40 hours broadcasting football and football related programmes between them. Going back 30 years, before dedicated sports channels, existed, it was usually 4 hours a week and the game was vastly less in your face. It seems now that this sport is turning into a 24/7 thing and every night of the week footbore is broadcast on some network.

Here in the states, it used to be ONCE A WEEK as in Monday Night Football.

Now it's around-the-clock misery. And what makes it worse is we cable subscribers have to subsidize the sports programming by paying mandatory sports "fees". Even if we don't watch it!
