Re: The Game of Strategy
The culture of pro, collegiate, hig school and the little leauge sports is at some level the reason that the USA is falling behind the rest of the world in almost every area. Kids don't want to work toward a goal unless it's on a field. Nearly every kid that I taught (30 years teaching at every grad...

Re: Sports vs fitness
all of u nerds are fags!!! Former USN SEAL. Never liked organized sports. Pick up games were fun. I did like staying fit. Never pushed the idea on anybody. However I did make it through BUDS (SEAL Training) and served as a SEAL in Vietnam. My son played a little soccer for fun. Never a sports lover...

Re: The Worst Show on TV : Friday Night Lights
Friday Night Lights is canceled. I am so glad. Not only is there endless "real" sports on TV but we were subjected to a fictional sport show as well. Its gone and good riddance.

Re: TORTURE POLICY - WATERBOARDING FOR DUMMIES
I think being filled up with water until you feel sick without prior training amounts to torture... Neither one of us had "prior" training. When you volunteer for Special Operations you volunteer for anything they throw at you. Or you volunteer out. If a terrorist is willing to kill hundr...

Sports Clothing etc.
Why do grown men and women purchase and wear t-shirts, jerseys, sweat suits etc with Team Logos for teams they never will or have played for. Why do they purchase these things at outrageous prices with the names of people other than their own and wear them as though they were a badge of honor or as ...

Re: What Does It Mean?
The numbers are their favorite NASCAR drivers car numbers. Some of them are placed on their windows to honor some NASCAR driver or other who died while racing. I think it is pretty stupid. Apparently NASCAR fans are as dumb as other pro sports fans. They will buy anything connected with their "...

Re: TORTURE POLICY - WATERBOARDING FOR DUMMIES
Both my son and I are former USN SEALS. As part of our training we were both waterboarded numerous times and in several different ways. Neither one of us consider it torture. We do regard it as a gigantic pain in the ass.

Re: NASCAR is NOT a Sport
Actually they don't go around in a circle. The track is an oval. If you want to see a very funny take on this go to ONION website and look for NASCAR coach. It is hilarious.

Re: School budgets fail but sports programs remain.
Sports are a drain of school funding. Helmets for football have to be repaired and refurbished every year. Coaches have to paid and do they get paid well. Transporting the teams, cheerleaders, drill team and the marching band also cost a great deal. They aren't making any money for education. The id...

Re: Straight from High School to the pros
High school kids just aren't ready to go up against men who have been training for years in college. It would be a bloodbath. High School Grads go into combat against seasoned Taliban and Al Queda fighters. I went into combat against Vietcong and NVA troops who were fighting for years and still kic...

Re: Sports and school budgets
Your post is so wrong on so many levels it doesn't even warrant a response. So why did you respond? It is an opinion. I don't have much respect or use for pro athletes. They are self centered, pampered prima donnas who would do anything for money. The people that should be looked up to are Neurosur...

High school kids just aren't ready to go up against men who have been training for years in college. It would be a bloodbath. That would make the game even more enjoyable to many of the fans. Have you seen the size of some of the High School players. Why don't they have farm team system like baseba...

Re: Straight from High School to the pros
We actually had an ex football "star" speak at one of our 5th Grade "DARE" graduations. It was all I could do not to scream "Shut the F**K up." He was less articulate than anyone in the graduating group. It was pathetic.
