I've run across the following in another topic on this board:

Despite the articulate and grounded thesis presented by the poster of this argument, I must disagree with his reasoning. While it is clear that the assertions he has made in support of his thesis rely on a Platonic foundation of ethics (viewing the abstract concept of 'sport' as a form of being rather than an actual individual instance of social substantiation), he has neglected to
provide an adequate amount of support for his arguments. Let's analyze his individual points in turn, presenting contrary evidence as we progress.

- "lol sports rule"
This statement is of course open to subjective disagreement. I infer from context that the poster's use of this statement comes from his understanding of non-Euclidean geometry (specifically, Einsteinian view of the curved universe), I present evidence to the contrary which may be hard to refute: "lol sports suck!". I support this rebuttal by pointing out that while Einsteinian geometry has in fact repudiated geometric beliefs based upon Newton's discourse, Newton's laws of motion have remained virtually unchallenged since their formation.

- "non of u brainless idiots have a chance at changing that"
Without doubt, the reader is well read. However, this statement is entirely unfounded; the Marxist doctrine our educated and humble friend has used to formulate this statement has over the past decades been rejected by all but the most traditionalist socialist theorists. I must complement the author on the creative liberties he's taken with the English language, however, as they've brought artistic undertones to his dissertation.

- "sports rule and are the most important thing on earth"
Again we have a purely theoretical statement, this time based on more theological and philosophical grounds (the statement "sports rule" is of course political, but I am taking it in an allegorical sense; it is doubtful that the author would reject his participation in his home country's government and submit instead to sports as his ruler). The theory that "sports are the most important thing on earth" cannot be debated in a scientific sense. I will thus concede that perhaps this is the case in the author's view of the universe, and again attribute it to allegory.

- "u all live....mars!"
It is somewhat painful to disagree with such a beautiful haiku, but I must. I do so on the grounds that "u" no doubt refers to those reading his post, thus sentient English speaking beings, thus inhabitants of the planet Earth.

In conclusion, while I find the author's arguments on the social and philosophical relevance of sports enlightening and well thought out, I disagree on many of his points. With some editing, this post could find a place among the great literary works of our time, and I encourage continued work by the author.
