In response to Fat Man,

Corporate greed etc. is about instant-gratification individualism (where people were so caught up about making huge short-term profit) it made the economy crash. Note "short-term profit" which can be considered to be in tangent with jocks.

Patience eventually pays, Fat Man, and if you were a physics professor or a researcher, you do get paid more than a football coach, so please do not make an overwhelming assumption that academic careers are constantly paid lower than jockish occupations when the comparison generally involves junior teaching staff.
