Well, if someone wants to spend his entire life zoning out on a six pick a day (which is essentially what sports fans do) I guess I have no problem with it. It's his life, not mine, that he is flushing down the toilet. Then one day, once he's in his sixties, he will realise that he missed out on life. He will learn the meaning of those Pink Floyd lyrics, because one told him when to run, and he missed the starting gun.
So you're not interested in any TV at all? That's a pity. There is so much more than sports...
There is. But in America you can order the best TV has to offer on Netflix, and they will deliver it on disc to you by post to watch according to your schedule when you have time. I don't even have to skim the TV guide channel to find out what I want Netflix to send. I can begin with Fat Man's YouTube videos and move on from there.
When someone watches TV he is letting broadcasters plan his life for him. Soon, however, you will all have Netflix in Europe as well, and it will set you all free.

I'm not quite sure what the relevance is in a thread called "pop music sucks" (unless your point is that my Pink Floyd allusion was equally misplaced).
However, since you brought up student protests, apropos of nothing, I am going to respond...
Any protester worth his salt knows that "tanks" are a theoretically possible reaction to his protest march. If the government (especially one with a reputation for tolerance like Britain's) brought in tanks, they would draw immediate international condemnation. At G8 summits, Obama and Merkel would fall over each other in an effort to distance themselves from "that outdated fascist moron who ran tanks over his own country's best young minds." In short, students win; fascists lose. Game over.

wibberley, your comments go far beyond extreme, unnecessarily extreme. In my opinion, you are the biggest extremist on this site, as your comments go much further than anyone else, including the commonly criticized Fat Man, as even though he often speaks of violence against groups he hates, he often says he isn't completely serious and wouldn't actually inflict harm upon them. But you've not only demonstrated extremely radical views towards athletes and sports fans, you've extended these violent thoughts towards many other groups. What's next? Perhaps you're planning on suggesting that all black people should be killed? Or that anyone who prefers Pepsi over Coca Cola should be lined up on a wall and shot? I wouldn't be surprised. Based on how easily you'd wish someone dead, I could wish that you would be killed because you don't use proper grammar. But I don't wish you dead, you don't deserve to be killed, but neither does anyone who you've been targeting. I don't know if you're just a troll who's trying to make our site look bad, or if you're actually sincere in your views here, or if you're just trying to overstate your opinion and you really wouldn't wish harm upon these groups, but either way, you need to realize that your comments go way past the line, and while even though you might blame some groups on problems you have had, your hate is not justified, and it isn't helping your argument.

Now, I might go as far to say, that whoever invented Buckhorn beer, the worst beer that ever was, should be modeling the latest fashions in Tar & Feather-Wear!

Thanks, HugeFan. You're to be commended for this post. You said what needed to be said. Good for you.
Hi, wibberley. I'm always sympathetic towards people who feel that they're been unjustly treated by others; but I don't believe in wishing anyone ill. I'm assuming this is just your way of venting your spleen. Since you do have a sympathetic audience here, you should explain what causes you to have these feelings of deep resentment; or you could communicate with one or more of us via PM. As I've learned from my own life experience, understanding oneself can be quite beneficial. Sometimes we don't fully understand why we feel the way we feel about something.

They're only trying to get to know you better. Believe me, it's not that this site seeks to defend sports or sports fans but we do like our users to outline a few actual reasons why they dislike them. And if you're going to say how you want all of them to die... at least attempt to give some reason behind the hate. Sorry, but I can't say I want all sports fans to be killed or everyone who likes modern music to be killed. I don't like sports or modern music but I have learned to respect the fact that there are other people out there who have different interests and they are entitled to them. We can't all be the same. A fact in life I know all too well.

Dearest BILL HAYDON,
We here in Picadilly were all sorry to hear that your luggage got lost at SMERSH HQ in East Berlin along with the NOC list you had on you.
Nevertheless, Connie and Karla send you their love.

(Joke.)
But seriously Wibbs, what the hell, man? I asked you just a few questions about those esoteric interests of yours and you went totally
S_P_U_T_N_I_K on all of us. What gives? You never told me what you thought about subtitles at the Met, or even how it is that you are able to appreciate those operas in foreign tongues that so frustrate and befuddle my stupid, unappreciative, tone-deaf, monoglot ear.
And you triple-posted for X's sake. Are you
trying to get yourself banned???
Cheer the F. up!

So although you hate sports, you're going to start attacking all the members of this anti-sports forum to exercise your right to insult everything you want. That figures.
