Things like playing the Piano may take more talent but you can't say good rap takes no talent. There has to be something there, otherwise everyone would be capable and make millions.

Well, as for me, I would much rather listen to a good piano concert anytime than rap!

Hey! I heard that when you were a little kid, you were a musical prodigy!

You played on the linoleum.

Polite24, must you disagree with everything said on this forum? I never even called rap shit, yet you still object to my comment. Any musical genre takes some form of talent but some take far more than certain others, and I feel that playing the piano is something that requires a lot more experience and dedication than stringing together a few verses and singing. Rap is not exactly a showcase of incredible musical talent.

I tried asking Polite24 if he had any old rap songs to recommend and he never answered! So until he does, I will say this about rap: it's all a pile of shit and it requires NO real talent! And yes, you're all damn right when you say playing the piano takes a lot more skill than stringing together some half-arsed ghetto verses. That can't be disputed. Some pieces can take years to learn and perfect on a piano and it takes incredible devotion and talent to become a professional pianist.

Hi Earl, I did check out one of his rap songs but I didn't really like it. I tend to favour older music seeing as how I grew up in the 1980s and have a lot of memories of those good old early days. I was just wondering if Polite24 had any links to older rap songs from around this time... maybe one or two of them I may remember? Rap did start to become popular in the late 80's, apparently, so perhaps he may know some of these older songs?... Being 36 years old, I don't really tend to follow the charts. It's for the younger generation and besides, a lot of it is just done for money and fame now rather than the artists' passion for music itself. I don't like the way more modern artists rip off older songs cause they can't think of their own ideas... Under Pressure by Queen & David Bowie and Vanilla Ice is a good example of this.

Polite24, if you know any older rap songs, please stick them up here and I will check them out. Take care now.

I'm only 18, so the 80's are a couple years before my time. I'll look some though. Look up Run DMC, or Geto Boys.

And I think the whole music sucks now mentality is just what people say when they get older.

for everyone else, eminem-when I'm gone is a good one.
