Oh, so you're choosing to take your anger out on me, are you now, recovering_fan? I said in that post that I speak from personal experiences, that I dislike people who, in real life, just stand by and will gladly let others suffer at the hands of others or some other force that they themselves can not control, when that person who is standing by has the ability to do some good. I never once encouraged Fat Man to keep hating on people - I'm saying that I agree with his assertions on those who just stand by and don't turn a blind eye to the plights of others. I'm not talking about some problems on an internet forum - I'm talking about real-life, emotional and physical suffering, that can do a lot more damage to people than words on the internet from people they've never met and never will meet. Just because you have suddenly turned against Fat Man does not mean that I have to disagree with him on everything.

When you agree with him on anything, and when you coddle him, it encourages him in his hate. I did that a long time myself. I'm sorry to say that for a long time I made many sympathetic remarks towards him. That strategy does not work with him. Referring to Republicans as ... you know what, is unacceptable. It is slanderous, and we need to stand up to that kind of obnoxious behaviour.

I've removed wibberley from your list. He's not a victim of Fat Man's aggression; he's a victim of problems which he caused himself through his short, inadequate and often psychotic posts. I'm not attacking him, I just believe that he dug his own hole as far as this forum is concerned, and has a responsibility to get himself out again.

If Wibberley deserves the right be here, then he deserves the right to post without getting ridiculed for his past behaviour. A person cannot get himself out of a hole if people are throwing more dirt on him.

Read through that "pop music sucks" thread again and tell me, honestly, that wibberley didn't deserve what was coming to him, now that you know his claims of being a loner were false, and he admitted to this himself.

When exactly did you decide his original story was "false"? When he was going berzerk? I believe it was his "admission" that was false. Wibberley's story remained consistent for the better part of a year. The "admission" only lasted a few days, and he never gave any details about his family. So, I tell you (honestly) that he did not deserve anything negative that happened to him after his reinstatement.

I understand how you could jump to the defence of wibberley, recovering_fan, but honestly, hawkeye10? The guy is such a scumbag that even many members of his own forums, the able2know forums, have him on "Ignore" due to his odious viewpoints on various social issues. It was actually me who brought him to the attention of this forum with a thread I started earlier on in the year, called something like "Goon Supporting Bullying on able2know Thread". The guy condones bullying in schools and believes that it is actually beneficial for kids' development. He is against the idea of other people coming to help others in need. There's no such thing as "considering someone else's feelings" in his world. I can understand the importance of defending yourself in harsh times, but who the fucking Hell would actually condemn those who come to help others in times when they need it? I bet hawkeye10 wouldn't have the guts to say this sort of stuff in real life, only behind a computer screen and keyboard where he doesn't have to fear any outraged survivors of abuse or other sympathisers of those who have been abused coming and giving him a punch. Hawkeye10 has outraged and aggravated me personally as well as Fat Man. In fact, Fat Man was only annoyed by his posts when I brought them to his attention, so I suppose that would make Fat Man the one who is coddling me in your book. That word seems to have a homosexual overtone to it, if you want my opinion. I think you're using it to insult me in some way, but in a slightly more subtle and intelligent way than your average jock bully would. Look, don't bother defending hawkeye10. The guy is, frankly, a scumbag and many people on his forum would attest to that. Anyone who believes bullying is a social good falls into the bad pages of my book. No coddling involved whatsoever.

Well, I had a rather interesting afternoon today.

As I was coming home, because I was coming home about a half hour late, I met my health care worker in the lobby of my apartment building. She usually comes to my room, but because I came home late she was in the lobby waiting for me.

Together we entered the elevator and I pushed the button for the 6th floor. Nothing happened. So I tried pushing a couple more buttons and still nothing happened.

The elevator was not going anywhere.

So, I tried the emergency bell, and still nothing.

There is a panel that opens and behind it a telephone. I pushed the button on the telephone, and a red light came on, but the telephone is not connected to 911, it's connected to the office in the lobby which is closed on weekends.

So, I started banging on the door until somebody heard me.

An elderly lady said she would call 911, but since the phone in the lobby wasn't working either she had to get somebody with a cell phone to dial 911.

Yeah! Nothing works in this town!

Well, she found another person who had a cell phone, but that person said she was too busy to be bothered and was in a hurry to get up to her apartment, and when she was told that there were two people stuck in the elevator, she still refused to let her cell phone be used.

So, the lady who was trying to help us had to look for another person with a cell phone. Eventually she got somebody to dial 911, and it was about a half hour before the fire department came and got us out of the elevator, then we took another elevator up to my apartment.

Well, I'm going to find out the name of the person who refused to help, and find out what apartment that person lives in, and have that person evicted, and I intend to sue.

Also, after the first of next month, I'm going to buy a hatchet and keep it in my big blue bag that I have on the back of my JAZZY 614 HD power chair that I use to get around because of the arthritis in my knees and ankles. I use the big blue bag when I do my grocery shopping, but I'm also going to keep a hatchet in my bag as an emergency elevator door opener.

The reason for my wanting to keep a hatchet in my big blue tucker bag is because, if I ever get trapped in the elevator late at night, and nobody hears me ringing the bell or banging on the door, and since the phone does not connect to 911 but only to the office in the lobby which is sometimes closed, then I will use the hatchet to bust open the elevator door.

And I will refuse to pay for the damaged elevator door, and turn around and sue them instead for money, because being trapped in an elevator late at night is a rather traumatic event.

Also, Monday, I'm going to go to the office down in the main lobby, and ask why the emergency phone in the elevator is connected to the office when is should be connected to 911.

This town is full of morons!

That sounds like such a horrible thing to happen, people can be so uncaring at times. The lift should be covered by the contract you have signed with the building owner and it should be maintained, afterall as a tennant you have rights. As for the woman who refused to help, whilst that is an absolutely vile thing to do, you shouldn't wish misfortune on her. You would only be sinking to her level. Can you contact the owners of the building to fix the lift?
