Fat Man and i_like_1981, it may have happened already. I've lost count of how many spammers I've banned lately; and aside from topics of their own, I've not paid attention to where the spammers submitted their posts (which, of course, I deleted). If a spammer posts at this particular topic of yours, Fat Man, I'll be sure to let you know in another post that I will submit. Considering the title of this topic, that would be funny.

Seeing as how we're waiting for a spam post in this thread, I shall make my next post rather irrelevant - 2011 posts now, Earl! You have reached our current calendar year in post count - which is, interestingly enough, 30 years since I was born. (Roll on June.)

Wow! I can't believe that I overlooked that milestone as well. Oh, well, as I said in the thread that kindly called attention to my 2001st post, I haven't been paying attention to the numbers. I've been preoccupied. Yes, i_like_1981, 30 (as in years of age) is a nice round number. I'm now twice as old as that. Time passes quickly, my friend. I'd tell you to call me "gramps" except I don't have any grandchildren (yet). (By the way, considering that I'm a moderator of this particular forum, wouldn't it be funny if I had a grandson who ended up playing football in high school?) I shall join you in celebration come this June.

Regarding the possibility of a spammer posting in this thread, I regret to say that Fat Man may not get his wish. But we can always hope.

Well, I have planted and set my bear trap for any spammers who set foot into this topic.

Hope none of them are like that dopey bear monster in the movie Prophecy (1979).

OK, as of now, we have 301 members.

It's nice to have new members, but unfortunately, most of these new members are potential spammers.

Here is how I can tell.

If they have weird looking user names that nobody can pronounce, and are using tiny little avatars that is smaller than a postage stamp.

That's the tip off right there!

If I were a board moderator, I would ban them immediately before they post their first messages, because I know it's going to be worthless spam.

There should be a new rule for newcomers who want to register.

First, a user name that is easy to pronounce, one that does not require seven rows of teeth and three tongues in order to pronounce it.

And do not use tiny little pipsqueak avatars that are smaller than a postage stamp.

Either have a standard size avatar or no avatar at all.

That's how we can tell if a new member is going to spam us silly!

Now, Earl, that is a name that nobody can pronounce. That one requires at least 13 tongues and 21 rows of teeth in order to pronounce. Yeah, a real tongue-twister.
