International I Hate Sports Club

The first post that you put up there wasn't all pro sports first of all and second that other post was from when I was a sports bore idiot.

And in less than a month you've went from thinking sports was the center of civilization to thinking it's completely worthless? That's a pretty extreme change.

Even when I was a sports bore I thought that sports sucked. Now I just hate sports even more and the people on these forums have helped me realize that. Your fighting a losing batytle now so just shut up!

Fighting a losing battle? How so? I just made you change your mind about when you signed three times. At least you finally agreed with me.

Just because I found out that I did sign up less than 2 months ago does not mean that I like you just so you know. And you are fighting a losing battle because you will never win against all of us sports haters.

We're arguing online, therefore no one will ever "win".

In the first sentence I meant that just because I agree with you on one thing doesn't mean that I will ever agree with you again I just didn't say it like that.

3. Plenty of people that are poor as dirt play sports.
4. Coaches and players sometimes switch teams.
5. I have friends.
6. Lots of skinny people hate sports.

Ivy League speaks the truth if by truth you mean logical fallacies. Funny, they taught us about those in community college but fail to mention them in Ivy League Schools? I guess cheaper is better!

One of the very best ways to determine if a civilization in on the decline is how that society become more and more obsessed with violent sports.

The Roman Empire is a prime example.

The hungry peasants began to rebel, and the Caesars came up with a solution, give them free bread and circuses!

So, they have free sporting events to keep disgruntled citizens occupied. Gladiators fought in the arenas and it was possible for a slave to win his freedom if he can kill his opponent. Losing a contest meant losing your life.

They also had trial by combat. If you were accused of a crime, you could "win your case" by defeating an opponent, but the results did not determine guilt or innocents, but only who was the strongest, and the strongest person "won his case" regardless if he was guilty or innocent.

The result was, that an innocent person falsely accused would die if he was not strong enough to win, or that a guilty person went free because he was able to win the contest.

A lot of innocent people died and a lot of guilty people went free.

Yeah! That's justice for you.

We have the same situation now.

A lot of football players have committed rape or other violent crimes and have gone unpunished, or have gotten off with only a slap on the wrist.

And sports are becoming more violent with each and every passing year, and more and more of our constitution right are being undermined.

By the time the 22ed Century comes, some time after 2100, our legal system of justice will be done away with, and if accused of a crime, you will have to face trial by combat in a sports arena, and guilty jocks will go free, and innocent nerds and geeks will die.

Anti-intellectualism is on the rise, bolstered by religious fundamentalism, and the two together make up a deadly combination.

Sports is NOT the center of civilization, nor the pinnacle of peace, prosperity, and loyalty!

Our nation's obsession with sports has resulted in the declining quality of education in our high schools.

To put it in jock or sports fan spelling . . . . .

R nashun's obsesshun wif sportz has reezalted in da deklinin' kwalitee ov edukashun in r hi skools.

Oh wait! They don't capitalize the first letter in a sentence, so it's an and "r" instead of an R.
