Blackdog4444, I might have the solution to your problem. Use foam ear plugs when you sleep. I'm not meaning to be flippant. I'm serious. A particular brand I recommend that has worked for me for years is Flents QUIET! PLEASE FOAM EAR PLUGS. You can buy them at just about any drug store. (I'm assuming this is true in other states besides Texas, where I live.) Wearing a pair of one of these ear plugs for the first night may be a liitle uncomfortable, but you get used to them rather quickly. A friend of mine had a similar problem with traffic outside his home in the middle of the night. I recommended that he use these ear plugs, and they eliminated the problem.

I've used earplugs before, but the problem is that I got sensitive ears and they got irritated by my constant rolling around. I did this for a couple nights yet their was no improvement whatsoever. It was utterly painful - what's less encouraging is that they were practically the same thing you were talking about, just not the same brand.

I'm sorry. I didn't know.

We shouldn't have to wear ear plugs, anyway. People should not wake other people up in the middle of the night with noise pollution. Most people can't sleep late when they've had a bad night. Guys who drive through neighborhoods at 3:00 in the morning with rap music blaring from their car radios with the volume turned all the way up are only proving to the entire world how dumb and stupid they are.

Even then they make themselves seem even bigger assholes than they are when I start putting everyone in a bad mood because I didn't get enough sleep.
Though I have been noticing that I'm becoming more of a light sleeper than usual. It's been getting like that for the past few months. Whatever it is, I hope it just goes away and it's just because it was winter. I do not want to take any sleeping pills anytime soon - not even non-addictive melatonin.
Damn ghetto wanna-be's adding to my problems. I hope some creep tracks them down and makes himself useful by reporting them.

you mean those cars that idle by booming out those really low tones?? I hate them too. I'd like to take a hammer to their damn car!
When I'm driving and one comes up behind me with the stereo so loud my rearview mirror is vibrating, I just stop. I pretend I have engine trouble and then go as slow as possible. They seem to always get the message and either turn it down or tear off and pass me.
This is a pretty good anti-boomer web site.

Hmm... sounds like something my mother would do if she was pissed off enough about it. She's been known to have some pretty "scary" road rage.
She usually does what you do or she turns up her stereo [she likes rock music, so I guess that must be opposition for the ghetto wanna-be's blaring the low drone out at all of us]. They usually race past her after revving up their rice burners that they think look so cool when they look worse than the old Monte Carlo she battles with. lmao

I can answer your question with one word only - crap. That basically sums up the tastes of your average sports fan!

It takes no talent to make up the half-ass rhymes those ghetto wanna-be's throw at us. More like a sledge hammer to the ears.

Screamo is the worst form of music there is.

There's no audible lyrics in the songs, it's screaming.
Developing the talent to be able to scream into a microphone isn't a musical talent, it's a talent by itself.
The instrumental parts in these songs take talent but that's it. I don't like metal but I recognize it takes musical talent. Screamo doesn't.
As far as rap goes, you guys are so far off base. Sure, a lot of the stuff on the radio you hear is complete garbage. People like Soulja Boy are garbage rappers. However, there are plenty of rap songs out that have a real meaningful message, and undeniably take a lot of musical talent.

i think it deprends on who you are i mean people listen to what amuzes them and intrests then not just bases on their talent and some poeple are just different than others so i dont think you can really narrow it down as much as your trying 2 theres just too many aspects to the musical culture and music itsself

I agree with you on that in regards to everything except screamo.
I absolutely hate heavy metal, but I have respect for it. I have zero respect for screamo.

I can understand the lyrics just fine.

Look up 'sonic earplugs'. They are very different from the foam variety. They don't plug up your ears and create a vacuum problem in your eustachian tubes like the foam ones will. They are ventilated and designed to cut sound without being hard on the ears.
I had a pair for many years being a musician. They are a little more expensive, but they are worth it, imo.
You can usually find them at a music store.
