He logs in every so often, but never seems to post anything. Probably waiting for a post he can easily make fun of.

Well.. we have two just like him --well, they are a step up in that they don't RANT but SportsGuy92 and the other one are as stubborn as a case of herpes.

SportsGuy92 does have a point. He and Polite24 are a far cry from the likes of Samdaman, and we should appreciate that fact. They remind me, despite my own prejudice in the past, that there are decent athletes. SportsGuy92 is only standing up for his own convictions, just as we are; and he is not trying to turn us into sports fans. I count four members of this forum as personal friends of mine, and I don't want to make anyone mad or hurt anyone's feelings. But we need to avoid becoming a mirror image of Samdaman and his ilk. Even when you disagree with them, SportsGuy92 and Polite24 are not suitable candidates for name-calling or unjustified hostility. Those of us who want a fight will just have to wait for another Samdaman to come along, which should happen sooner or later.

I just felt sorry for SportsGuy92 and felt compelled to defend him. You know my independent streak. If he or any other poster were abusive, I wouldn't feel sorry for him.

I feel sorry for morons because they're such losers and their lives must be really boring because they have no brains. It must really feel lonely for them having only 2 brain cells floating about in the big empty skull.

SportsGuy92 is not a moron, meaning that he's not dumb. To the contrary, he seems to be quite intelligent and well-informed. Again, despite his rocky start in this forum, he's a far cry from the abusive type. Speaking as a middle-aged adult, he seems to be a nice kid. When I said that I felt sorry for SportsGuy92, I was not making light of him. I feel sorry for him because of the rejection he has experienced in this forum. On several occasions he has tried to reach out, but has been rebuffed. I do not agree with every single statement he has made, any more than with any other member; but I don't regard him as The Enemy.
