International I Hate Sports Club

I love the way this thread seems to have several dialogues going on at once - computer games and this so-called "Kid Buu" getting talked about alongside the whole deal with SportsGuy92. No wonder it has drawn such a massive number of posts as anything and everything seems to be getting said here! It's quite unlike your typical forum discussion.

Speaking as someone who currently doesn't even play World of Warcraft or any other video game, I think the petition is a bunch of baloney. Those who oppose the petition should also be allowed to cast a vote against it instead of just leaving a message.

So what's wrong with a petition to ban sports in channels that have nothing to do with sports? NOTHING!

Speaking as someone who's always supported women's rights (except for being pro-life instead of pro-abortion), I've always been in favor of women's sports (even though I'm not a sports fan). I've never felt uncomfortable about women athletes, and they have played no role in my feelings about certain sports. I rooted for Billie Jean King against Bobby Riggs in that famous tennis match in 1973. (Incidentally, one of the biggest supporters of women's sports is Stephen King, who is not related to Billie Jean King. A friend of mine who is a sports sociologist once met him.) I can see why girls who play sports would be less likely to engage in conduct that would result in unplanned pregnancies. Being pregnant would obviously keep them from competing or participating in their sport.

Sergey, I must be missing something. The link you posted directs the viewer to a petition in favor of banning World of Warcraft, not sports in channels that have nothing to do with sports. What I was objecting to was the petition in favor of banning World of Warcraft. I didn't see any petition to ban sports in channels that have nothing to do with sports.

Also you know what Bullsh!t: A football manager has died and that got more Space in the newspaper than Harry Patch passing away.
