You yourself said that 99% of sports fans aren't bad people.
Polite24 wrote:I stand by that estimation. You figure most people aren't bad people, so in my opinion it wouldn't change when you factor in only sports fans.
So, you say that
99% percent of sports fans are not bad people.
Could this be applied to all categories and subgroups of people as well?
For example:
You could just as easily say that
99% percent of serial killers are not bad people, or
99% percent of pedophiles are not bad people.
Now, when sports fans get all pissed off over their favorite team losing the big game of the season, many of them take to the streets rioting, breaking shop windows, setting fires, and overturning cars.
Maybe not all sports fans do this. Some just go home and beat the crap out of their wives and kids.
But you can be sure, that it is more than just a mere 1% percent of sports fans who riot in the streets. It's at least half of them.
The other half go home and beat the crap out of their wives and kids.
Sorry JIMBO! But you can't say that
99% percent of all sports fans are good people.
MOST SPORTS FANS ARE MORONS!!!

KA-POW!!
That was a knock-out argument! Why didn't I think of that? Obviously (now) just because 99% of people are good, you can't extend that to any other group of people. ESPECIALLY sports fans. Well said.
And he did say 99% ALL THE TIME and everyone used to dog him about it.

And we shall keep on dogging him about it.
He treats us like dogs, so . . . . . we shall make him our pissing tree!

With all due respect, I almost don't know where to start. I know something about journalism because my sister worked as a journalist for many years and did investigative reporting when she was a newspaper reporter. If you think that the sports media is a reliable source of news, you're sadly mistaken. I will say without hesitation that the sports media is a sham and a mockery of journalism. Its bias exceeds even the political bias of the liberal and the conservative news media. I don't want you to take this personally, but just about every sportswriter and sports columnist seems to believe that each and every teenage boy who dons a football uniform is a hero. Hardly an objective point of view. I can pick up the sports section of just about every newspaper in the country and read the typical offerings of sports columnists. What I always find is nothing but mush. Really the sports media is not a journalistic institution. It is nothing more and nothing less than a propaganda mill whose intent is to brainwash everyone into becoming sports fans. You see, this is where the money is.
The thing you have to remember about sports journalists is that while they may be biased towards athletes, they are also the first to hype a story where athletes do wrong. It's those kind of stories that sell the most newspapers.

Hi, SportsGuy92. I'm not ignoring your post. I'm rather busy and just not in an argumentative frame of mind at the moment. Sorry.

yeah, because sports fans are comparable with serial killers and pedophiles. I know the type of response that will get here, but what a shitty argument.

Did you ever stop saying 99$? I don't think so. STFU when you can't stop repeating the same shit over and over again.

I want to bring up an old issue that SportsGuy92 and I discussed earlier in this topic, and that is the "sports is gay" theme. As I've said before more than once, I've never resorted to such silly rhetoric -- which is satirical, as far as I'm concerned, or is used as just a simple insult. What I'd like to point out again is the fact that this whole controversy was started by the sports crowd and not by people who didn't like sports. For generations boys who have had no interest in sports have wrongfully been unjustly stigmatized as having homosexual tendencies. I just did a Google search, and have discovered that this despicable claim is still being bandied about as if it were the gospel truth. As the happily married, middle-aged father of two well-adjusted and competent children who are now young adults, I must say that this negative stereotyping of nonathletic boys is some of the vilest stereotyping I've ever heard of; and it was all started by the sports crowd. The fact of the matter is that there are boys with homosexual tendencies who are active in competitive team sports such as football just as there are boys with homosexual tendencies who have no interest in sports. And just as the great majority of the population is not homosexual, most boys who have no interest in sports do not have homosexual tendencies! As far as my own lack of interest in sports, my wife pointed out that I have never shown an interest in games of any sort, including board games or card games; hence, no interest in sports -- which are, after all, games. (The only notable exception to this is the Sonic the Hedgehog video games that I used to spend too much time playing, but that was simply because I was watching a story unfold and I wanted to see the end of the story.) A lack of interest in games, of course, has absolutely nothing to do with sexual orientation or, for that matter, moral courage! A white judo instructor (and former university football player) whom an incompetent psychologist sent me to when I was around the age of 15 stereotyped me as having "latent" homosexual tendencies on the basis of what? Simply because I was not physically strong, liked to read books about animals, and didn't like to get into fights. Yet I never had homosexual desires of any kind. In fact, my scientific background led me to view homosexuality with dismay, since the human body clearly is not designed for that kind of physical activity (and that would include heterosexual sodomy as well). So, SportsGuy92, this whole business about this or that supposedly being gay, historically speaking, was started by the sports crowd in their anti-intellectual drive to penalize and stigmatize young nonathletic boys. I know what I'm talking about because I personally experienced this stigmatization myself.

I believe homosexuality is genetic. So sports players have a big group of fagolas.

I've never seen people more obsessed with homosexuality than many of those in the sports crowd. What do the likes of Harold and Samdaman

say?
Gay! Gay! Gay! Gay! Gay! Samdaman

says this website is gay, despite the fact that we don't even get any homosexual porn spam. (The completely nonerotic heterosexual porn spam that I as a moderator have to delete repeatedly is utterly gross and grotesque enough!

) Makes you wonder what is behind this obsession with
Gay! Gay! Gay! Gay! Gay!
