I'm going to make a big reply to dickfilthy but i don't have the for it right now. Meanwhile let me just say I'm just sick and tired of Fat Man's untrue claim that the majority of athletes end up with jobs like bagging groceries. Two of the most successful members of my father's high school class were also the two best football players. One of them played football at West Virginia University and became an Academic All American, a Phi Beta Kappa member, and a Rhodes Scholar finalist. He played in the NFL for a few years and has been an executive for several sports teams since then. The other one played at Harvard and is now a millionare who runs his own mutual fund.

Our schools only offer two options. If you're physically fit enough and athletic, then for you, the schools have sports, and if you're lucky you get to play football or basketball in college, and if you're really lucky, you get into professional sports.

The second option is for those who are no good at sports, those who are not athletic. Since our schools no longer teach anything, then the only option for them is bagging groceries.

Your description of what happens to nonathletic people is a bit over the top. I know plenty of unathletic people who are doing just fine mentally and physically.

I knew what a mutual fund was. And I believe he is a fund manager, where he is in charge of selecting the stocks that will go into the fund.

As I said in my last post to you, all your points are old ones that have already been covered. So all your points, and I'm sure all your future points, could be answered with various quotes that already exist. Sportsguy, I really don't think you can imagine how incredibly dull that kind of talk is to a sports hater. To a sports hater, that kind of talk is like listening to a couple of 5 year old kids discussing who is better - Batman or Superman. Sports talk is really just the grown ups version of that.

There must be thousands of sporting websites out there where you can have such conversations, and you really need to go to them if you like having such conversations.
