OK! THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE LIMIT! I'M REALLY PISSED!!!

Yesterday, February 14,2012 we had a Valentines party down in the lobby of my apartment building, a nine-story high-rise that is public housing that one gets through HUD, Housing and Urban Development.

I have been living here since October of 2001.

This apartment complex and the surrounding cottages are for low income elderly and/or disabled. It is Government public housing.

Anyway . . . . . .

During the party, Spanish music was played, soft drinks were served, we had Spanish food, and cake was served for desert.

I was sitting next to a friend of mine, a very intelligent well educated lady in her 50s. Her son has a PhD in forensic science and works for law enforcement. I have another close friend who lives in the building, a rather large woman in her 80s who is also very well educated, a retired school teacher, and she also has a son with a science degree.

Anyway, we were sitting at a table enjoying our food, and then the cake was served.

I went out to the room where the cake was being cut up, and I was given a very small piece. Then, my friend left the table, went out to get a piece of cake, and came back, also with a very small piece.

When she came back to the table, she told me that some of the apartment residents were given a much larger piece of cake, and when she asked why, the guy who was cutting and serving the cake said that he was serving the Christians larger slices of cake, and because he knew that my friend and I are non-believers, we got a much smaller slice of cake.

LIKE, WHAT THE FUCKING HELL WAS THAT ALL ABOUT???

Needless to say, we were both pissed!

We were only allowed a very small piece of the Jesus Cake!

Actually, it wasn't really a Jesus Cake, but just an ordinary rectangular cake with white frosting and decorated with little pink and red candy hearts, but the guy serving the cake, I guess, the moron who was cutting the cake decided to designate it, the Jesus Cake!

The fucking retard really shouldn't be trusted with a knife, not even a plastic knife!

Anyway . . . . .

After the party was over, I went back up to my apartment, put a pizza in the oven, and poured myself a beer, and smoked a cigar.

It took me over an hour to calm down I was so pissed!

OK, this afternoon, Wednesday February 15, when I went down to the lobby to check my mail, I then went to the office window and asked, if there was some kind of policy in this building that during holiday parties in the lobby, that the Christians get served a larger slice of cake than non-believers.

She said no, that it was not the building policy, and if any of the building employees has been discriminating, then he/she is in violation of the apartment rules.

Then I said, I wonder how you all would like it, if I brought a nice great big dark red chocolate Devil's Food Cake to a party, and then said that Christians can not have a slice, that it's for non-believers only. I wonder how they would like that!

Of course, I will not do that!

I don't want to sink down to their gutter-level. I'm above doing that sort of thing.

Anyway . . . . .

The majority of apartment residents here are Hispanic and Catholic, and every Sunday, they hold Mass in one of the rooms for those who can't get to church.

OK, I have no objections to that, because I don't discriminate. Let them have their Catholic Mass in one of the rooms. No big deal.

But, that does NOT give them the right to discriminate against the non-believers in this building.

I'm going to make some noise about that!

Just because this is Texas, and this state is under the control of right-wing Christard Funny-mentalist Republicans, it still does not give anyone the right to discriminate against non-believers. This is still the USA, and Texas is still in the USA, DAMN IT!!!

I will see to it, that the fuck-tard who was serving the cake, gets his ass canned so that he can't work anywhere that is connected to public housing, that he'll be lucky if he can get a job bagging groceries.

NO! I'm going to see to it, that his ass gets hauled off to the slammer!

Those who get to cut the cake are almost too busy slicing it to be looking elsewhere especially if there are many people, maybe he wanted to make sure there was enough for everyone. I've seen that happen to me and I've never been denied another slice.

It could of all been just a coincidence. and I'm betting that if you would have asked for another slice you would have gotten another one.

And a suggestion, you have better chance of getting him canned for another thing (if that's what you still want anyway) than because you got a smaller piece of cake which he can make an easy excuse anyway.

I didn't stand there to watch him cutting the cake for everyone else. I was there just long enough to get my piece of cake, and I went back to the table.

Yeah, like, I'm just going to stand around like an idiot watching someone slicing a cake after I had already gotten my piece!

Oh WOW! A great sporting event! Watching somebody slicing a cake! Whoopee!

Hey! They should have that as a sporting event on TV! Yeah! Now that would fascinate the Hell outta me, just watching a cake being sliced up! Oh! I could spend hours watching that! Why, that's even better than watching a good movie!

So, she was the one who had noticed what was going on, and when she came back to the table, she told me what had happened.

And yes! I want him to get his ass canned for that, and I want him to go to fucking jail for it!

This is Government public housing where I live, and discriminating against people based on religion or non-religion is a violation of the First Amendment in The Constitution of The United States. And since he is employed by public housing, then violating the First amendment rights of any of us tenants is a felony!

I'm paying $200 dollars a month rent here, so I should have the same rights as all the other tenants, and so should my friend who also pays rent to live here.

Oh! I would have loved it, if he had told me that I was getting a smaller slice because I'm not a Christian.

I can't even take your reply seriosly, I advise you to re-read your whole post and meditate on the things you are saying over a measly slice of free cake.

You're making a lot of assumptions from what you've said. even for your own standards. I could ask you if another person got another small slice of cake besides you and your friend? maybe he was christian but still got "screwed over". But that would make me make an assumption too. see what I'm getting at? You take pride in your use of logic and reason, then for your own sake, use them before jumping into conclusions.

It's not the cake so much as the principle of the thing!

It could have just as easily been something other than cake! Something more important, like housing, employment, or eduction, or health care.

Suppose I was looking for a job, or wanting to move into different housing, and they would not hire me for the job, or let me move into the housing because I was not of the same religion or because I'm physically handicapped, or some other stupid reason.

The Republicans want to make some changes in the health care regulations that would allow your employer to decided on what kind of health care his employees receive, based on the religious beliefs of the employer.

For example:

Most health care plans provided free contraceptives for women.

But if you're working for a company, and your boss is Catholic, then he can decide that his female employees can not get contraceptives under his company's health care plan.

This is the legislation the Republicans want to have passed, based on "religious freedom" which is what they're using as an excuse.

I have been signing online petitions against this sort of thing for the past couple of weeks!

So, this goes way beyond cake!

Today, it's being denied a piece of cake, based on whether one is a Christian or not. Tomorrow, it will be food or medicine, or housing, or education or employment.

I was not the only only one who got served a small piece while the Christians were served larger pieces.

When my lady friend came back to the table, she told me what the guy had told her about non-believers getting served smaller portions.

Normally, I don't bother going to the parties down in the lobby. The music sucks, it's boring, and it's mostly people who speak Spanish and very little English, so I feel out of place there.

The only reason why I stayed down in the lobby, was because my friend was there, and I always enjoy her company because she is well educated. Sometime she comes up to my room and we watch YouTube videos together, or talk about our favorite subjects.

No, this isn't about cake.

It's about an employee in Government Public Housing discriminating against some of us tenants in the apartment complex.

Suppose the idiot had tried to have security guards posted in front of the elevators, saying that only Christians can use the elevators and non-believers have to take the stairs, or some shit like that.

But that would have been much too obvious, so he used something small, insignificant, and petty, like cake, to make his point.

Perhaps he was testing the waters, so to speak, and maybe he'll eventually go on to try something more significant.
