Here is a video about this guy working in his own yard who is trying to tune up his newly built Tesla Coil to the correct resonant frequency when he is interrupted by a drunken neighbor who bullies him around on his own private property.

Tesla Coils (the dangers)

OK here we go I just got my new pulse cap (Maxwell that is) so now there is 60nf under the bonnet and I'm using a tap for the primary tapped around the 11th turn somewhere but you can see I'm not quite there yet (it keeps melting and smoking for starters) but we can see that when I do find the spot and make a better tap its really going to do the bizz and I'm just about to put it all away for the night whilst I make a new tap and what happens but a pissed up neighbor (using the term neighbor lightly) decides he wants a piece of me!!! Don't worry about my messed up clothes I'm wearing rags cos I'm working on stuff!! just in case!!

Tesla Coils are dangerous enough as it is, but dealing with ignorant bores who don't understand what your doing, and fear and hate you for it, they are even more dangerous.

I would feel much safer playing with the Tesla Coil.

I saw a few of the Tesla coil videos on the other thread and they're pretty impressive! The one where they do the Mario Brothers theme is ace! It must take a hell of a lot of applied knowledge to make music with such equipment.
