I'm sick and tired of our forums being disrupted by spammers!

I've also noticed that the three topics in this Off-Topic section of the forum which got spammed tonight were all started by you and made reference to the Republican Party (well, one of them was about a "right wing radio duck" but the Republicans are a right-wing party, so that's how I made that connection) - maybe the politics references are attracting them in some way? Or maybe the spambots are getting here through the links you posted to those articles on politics? I don't know if it's for sure, but it's just a thought.

If we let ourselves be intimidated by spammers, then nothing would get posted here and we would have no forum anymore.

No offense, but why did two topics of basically the exact some subject by the same author need to be started within less than 24 hours? I understand why you are annoyed with them, and even though I'm only mildly annoyed by them, I respect that you dislike them more than I do. But starting this new topic seems slightly pointless to me. In fact, one might even consider this spam, which you seem to be strongly against. I won't even go into detail in this thread right now about why I think your wish for the death of spammers isn't right.

I myself also have a rather unpleasant punishment in mind for these spammers who disrupt scores of forums across the internet on a daily basis without realising how pointless and futile their attempts at "promoting" their products really are. Seriously, I'm sure there are several people around the internet who would agree. Heck, I've even seen the SPORTING NEWS forum get held up by spam posts before. Maybe the people who do it don't have to die, but their spamming ways need to be eradicated in some way!

No, they have to die!

It's not just the web site forums.

Over the past couple of weeks I had to unsubscribe to several Yahoo Groups because my E-mail was getting spammed.

This morning I received over 400 copies of the same E-mail.

So, for an hour I had to Click and delete, click and delete, click and delete, over and over and over again.

I could have selected ALL and then it would have take mere seconds, but then, I would have deleted the good mail along with the spam.

So, I had to engage in an hour of mindless clicky work when I could have been doing something else.

I subscribe to all kinds of science Newsletters and political Newsletters, and I would much rather be reading them instead of wasting my time deleting spam.

Do these spammers actually get paid by the companies advertising their products when they spam the forums with their advertisements and post links to their products?

If so, then these spammers are worse than the jocks, because they are getting paid to disrupt web site forums, and interfere with our freedom of speech.

And the companies who sponsor these idiots, they should have federal charges brought against them under the RICO statutes, the Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization statute.

The spammers are actually worse then the jocks, because all jocks can do is make a few moronic posts with three word sentences and one syllable words.

But spammers can disrupt an entire forum and fuck up our E-mails.

In the meantime, I hope the little bimbo slut who spammed my E-mails with over 400 copies of the same shit, I hope she crashes her car into a telephone pole in front of her Mama's house with her Mama lookin' on!!!

I disagree. I haven't heard of a kid kill himself because other kids at school were bullying him for not participating in spam. I haven't heard of a mandatory course in any educational system where students must learn how to spam even when they have no interest. I haven't heard of a spammer getting excused by society after committing rape. I'm not defending spammers by any means, I just don't in having mass amounts of people killed because some of them caused a minor inconvenience to you.

So, how about putting all spammers in prison, except spammers are put in rotating jail cells that spin around and around and around, and in the cell they have a TV set but it's playing the same program over and over again day after day and they can't turn it off, they have to listen to the same ol' shit over and over again.

Sorry, but getting spam in my E-mail is not just a mere inconvenience, not when you have to waste hours doing mindless and repetitious clicky work over and over again to get rid of the spam when I could be doing something else.

I hate doing mindless repetitious tasks, and that is what spam in our E-mails make us do!

It forces us to do mindless repetitious tasks, just like playing in sports!

I prefer doing other things on my computer, such as downloading music and videos, and going to many different web sites, exploring the Internet, and reading science and political Newsletters, doing things that stimulate the mind, and NOT doing something that shuts down the pre-frontal lobes.

Getting rid of spam involves doing mindless and repetitious tasks, just like sports, especially having to spend over an hour clicking on over 400 pieces of spam to delete each one.

While it's true that nobody is forced to be a spammer like kids in school are being forced into sports, spammers have forced me to do mindless and repetitious tasks just like sports makes us perform the same mindless and repetitious movements.

If you take a piece of really stiff wire, like a piece of coat hanger, and you bend it back and forth back and forth over and over again, it will eventually break into two pieces.

So, when I was a kid, when ever I saw sports, I use to wonder why athletes can perform the same repetitious movements over and over again and not have their arms and legs and their heads break off. Actually, I knew better than that, because the human body is self repairing always growing new cells as the old ones die off.

Anyway . . . . .

As I was clicking on each one to delete them, all I could think of was DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE! DIE!

And having spam shoved down my throat is just like having sports shoved down my throat!

Both are mindless and repetitious and a waste of valuable time that could be spent doing other things.

Getting spam in my E-mails is like having a chain put around my neck like a dog leash and having somebody jerk the chain again and again!

Oh! And it gets even better!!!

Last week I got spammed by some Yahoo Group (to which I have since unsubscribed) and the E-mails had some kind of malicious software that slowed down my IncrediMail and when I tried to click on each one to delete them, it caused my IncrediMail to lock up. I would have to exit and reload my IncrediMail after clicking on each piece of spam.

So, guess what I had to do!

I had to click on any random piece of E-mail to highlight it, then click on [Select All] to highlight all of my E-mails, and then click on [Delete] and I had to delete the entire contents of my In Box to get rid of the spam, which meant, throwing out the good E-mails in the trash along with the spam.

Yeah! I had to to throw away perfectly good science Newsletters to get rid of the spam.

That's just like sports in our schools. Perfectly good students are treated like garbage while the jocks get all kinds of special privileges heaped on them.

So, because of spam, I had to throw good E-mails out with the trash including many science Newsletters that I never got to read. When morons send me spam, they might as well be grabbing me by the shoulders and bashing my head up against a brick wall.

Now, that's what I call censorship.

Spam actually censors and takes away our freedom of speech, and to me, that is TREASON, so it would be more appropriate if spammers got the firing squad, which is the penalty for TREASON!!!

No blindfold and no last cigarette! BANG! BANG!

OK, the main reason why I started this topic, is because I want spammers who come into our forums to see that they are not loved, and I want them to feel like they're entering a village where they might get lynched or something.

Now, it would be really ironic if spam got posted in this topic!

Whoa, 400 copies of the same email? And you had to delete every email one at a time? Sounds like there could have been a few easier ways around that. If you don't like the sound of getting a load of unwanted spam emails, you should try setting your actual inbox to "Exclusive" reception so that the only emails that get through into your inbox are from senders you have confirmed as being safe. All emails from other addresses will go to the SPAM folder and you won't have to worry about them. I did this when the 4channers signed me up for a ton of shitty sports newsletters last year and that was clogging up my actual inbox. Once I set it that way, all the sports crap was sent to my SPAM folder from then onwards, and it gets deleted within 10 days. I still receive these stupid emails now, but I know where they are and I know they're not blocking the things I want to see. Why don't you try this? I'm not sure if you're with Hotmail or not but there must be something similar on whichever email service you're using.

I use IncrediMail as my default, and my E-mail address is with SBC Global.

I like my IncrediMail because it has sound effects. When I'm typing E-mails, it even sounds like a typewriter, and I have all kinds of neat backgrounds and animated graphics.

OK, in order to use my Junk Mail option, I have to pay for the premium version of IncrediMail. So, for the time being, I'm stuck with having to delete spam.

Spammers are no better than jocks and sports fans. Spamming is just another form of cyber-bullying!

And it's sponsored by business who should be put out of business!

And now, spamming has even become a threat to intellectual and academic freedom.

I hope all these capitalist pigs drown and and choke to death in their own pig slop!!!

But as far as this forum's concerned, I don't think there's any way to stop it, really. If they can get past a CAPTCHA system, then I don't know what they can't get past. Well, most of the spam comes from some of the Yahoo Groups, and when I get too much spam from any group, then I unsubscribe to that group, and that puts an end to the spam from that particular Yahoo Group.

If the moderators of these Yahoo Groups won't do anything about the spammers, then I want nothing further to do with them.

Of course, I'm not going to leave these anti-sports forums because of the spammers.

It's worse when you get a ton of spam clogging up your personal E-mail account, because sometimes the spam might carry some kind of malicious software that can lock up your computer or in my case, my IncrediMail application gets locked up.

While the spam on these forums does not harm my computer, but it is an annoyance, and it disrupts the flow of conversation.

Now, if this particular topic got spammed, it would be kind of funny.

Imagine spamming a topic where I advocate the death penalty for spammers!
