I find the idea of people being given money to support a college sports career completely absurd and I feel it undermines the purpose of education. I mean, people go to university or college to learn, and what on earth is it going to do if people are going to get pushed into football so that they can get, as I've heard it called before, a "free ride"? I don't even see the importance of sports in a high school setting at all, let alone to the extent where full scholarships are available to those who are the most skilled. Ridiculous. No wonder the high school world is so sports-centric. Makes Britain seem perfectly sensible and rational in comparison.
