International I Hate Sports Club

My sports story.
I am in a family where everyone but my boyfriend and I like sports,which is totaly upsetting.
My family talks non stop about sports and sport related stuff and durring holidays it gets worst, they all gather around the t.v. and watch golf or football or whatever gay sport instead of watching some good movie,and my boyfriend and I are being anti social because we don't want to watch the game.
It gets worst for christmas and birthdays the kids are given exspensive golf clubs or some sport related item and the adults get shirts with the teams on them ,YUCK!
And even tho I have told my family over a million times I hate sports and so dose my boyfriend they still buy us these stupid sports shirts for us.
I have always voiced my extream dislike of sports to my family , they say oh you'll grow up and im 26 and they still say that. They can't except that someone would hate sports as much as I do, and I don't want to hear or talk about it. My sister in law is most likely the worst of my family she has both her boys enrolled in every posible sport and the kids like it which is I belive because she tells them to like it.
I have always said "it's a stupid game and they get paid way to much to play it" and think about it a pro football whatever pro sporter gets paid more in one game then most pepole get in a year or even a life time. And my family says that im inmature for saying that. She belives by pushing them they can get somewhere someday , I always point out the chances of this and how even if they do play collage ball or whatever if they get seriously hurt is it worth it? Again im crazy acording to my family for thinking this way.
And whats the point I have always asked? Where dose sports get you in life?
Sports hurt me when I was 13 years old I started to get pain in my right side
when I complained to the gym guy he said I was"out of shape" and made me run more laps this continued untill it got unbearibly bad I told my parents who took me to the hospital , I had a sist the size of a dolls head in my right ovary, out of shape my butt. I think gym is a waste of time I think it should not be mandatory nor should the kids have to go if they don't want to and if I ever have kids I will teach them that sports have no value what so ever in life and will never make them a dime and will write notes or go talk to the gym teacher and say no way no how is my kind being involved in your gay gym class. I will not allow my kids to play or talk of sports if they want to do that better not do it around me. I think when parents force there kids to play sports or be in gym (as mine did) its abuse because you shouldn't have to do something you hate. Anyway I will continue to hate all sports and voice my dislike of all things sports related. I do have a question is figure skating a sport? cuse I tend to think its more tallent then throwing a ball around. I don't know tho I dont watch it to boring. Sports are boring god to sit there for hours and hear some guy talk about this and that play BORING. Oh and pepole who pay like 40-80 bucks for some wrestling game GAY! Theres all these packages for like 100 bucks a month for this and that sport its wrong whyn't add more classic tv/cartoon stations instead? THANK GOD im not the only one who hates sports I was begining to wonder.

That must be annoying. Grow up? Since when is not wanting to watch sports childish? You don't like it and that's your opinion.

why isn't gym important? Being physically fit and healthy is something that's pretty important I would say.

The truth isn't always coherent. And gym...you make a solid point but there are other ways of getting healthy besides playing the "holy" sports.

There's no excuse for not forming coherent sentences for all you people who are supposedly so much smarter than sports fans.


And yeah there is. How many of you actually do it though?

Touche but the same can be said for your kind as well, endless hours of devotion including hours on end in front of the T.V. screaming for your favorite team(more than actually playing) is the best way to lose some pounds. But me personally, I take Jow-Ga classes.

If im not mistaken a good portion of you guys are against playing sports as well as rooting for teams.

One of your guys complaints about sports is it interrupts good TV shows. What makes a TV show any better for you than sports?

Hmmmm. Something about having our favorite show preempted just so people can watch a bunch of guys run around and do stuff with a ball for three hours? Maybe that's it? I don't know.

What meaning or consequence do tv shows have? That's what you guys preach around here on why sports are so bad, am I right?

The difference between TV(non-sports related) shows and sports in our eyes it's they're ACTUALLY entertaining. Of course not all because that's up to personal preference. They have different varieties and genres that teach us an infinite number of things so much more than sports. And all those benefits from playing sports and lessons learned from playing them can be achieve without ever holding a ball. Me personally I love watching the history channel.

Sports aren't entertaining to you, fine. But that means we should take it away from the millions upon millions of people who enjoy it?

Realistically speaking, I would say 50% of these "millions and millions" only like sports because the other 50% like them and/or they fear ridicule and reprisals from assholes like yourself who have nothing better to do than come on here and cause trouble.

You know what's immature? Getting all worked up over a meaningless and pointless GAME! I would think all you meatheads would have outgrown playtime after high school.

Selfish? Yes. What's wrong with a little self-indulgence? And of course so is your getting on here and annoying us for some unknown purpose. Really Detroitsportsfan, do you think you are going to get anywhere going up against us on our home turf? It's a bit like deciding to plead your case that honey is evil to bees.

If I ever have kids, I will allow them to follow whatever path they wish to take in life, provided it does not involve illegal activity. However, if they ever start referring to a sports star as a "hero" then there's going to be problems. I'll let them participate in gym, but if the teacher tries to force them into an activity they don't want to do, I will be sure to give him or her a piece of my mind. And if they did something as idiotic as making a kid of mine run laps because they are experiencing pain, I will push for their removal from a teaching position.

Like our manifesto says:

...physical activity is good and it's OK to play sports if you enjoy them!

Also, you don't have to push yourself to your limit to be fit and healthy. For example, I take a mile-long walk each day. Apparently, walking a mile uses exactly the same energy as running a mile. Doesn't feel that way, but what I do feel after the walk is good.
