Sports, the opiate of the masses.

Hello! Upon stumbling upon this site, I realized that there is an open voice towards the opposition of sports in general. It felt like a great big load has been lifted from me since I thought I was a minority here. Well, here's my story...
I was not born in the USA so popular sports here such as Football never appealed to me. However, where I was born and raised for a good amount of my life, Basketball was all the rage there. It was like a plague that swept the nation. Thankfully, I didn't jump the bandwagon. When I came to US, I was perplexed as to how Americans also shared a manic craving of a sport which is American Football. Everywhere I went, from home, school, work, it is always about Football...The sport itself does not warrant such a following (I'll get into further detail as to why some other time.). Knowing this, I can also feel pity for the mindless masses who are so engrossed in this "sport."
Anyways, now that I have done my introductions, I hope I can further share my thoughts and views here.
