The Olympics......

If there was ever a sports event that fooled people into believing the "good" that is sports(besides daily exercise) it has to be the Olympics. Interestingly enough my history professor just showed us this half hour special on the "original" Olympics about a week ago.
There are many differences including not clothes while you compete, choosing death over disgrace(this had happened alot), women never competing and alot more but I covered the good stuff. But the ONE thing that has not changed the hero worshiping of the victors. My main point is the selfish desire to become almost a god in the eyes of others is still there. We all want fame and we all know it has its prices, especially if you let it go to your head. And at the end of the day after all those "Olympians" are done competing, its not the "spirit of the competition" that keeps them going. Peace out all.
