Sports is the center of civilization, and the pinnacle of peace, prosperity, and loyalty.
Without sports, there would be more violence, more boredom, and an increase of a lack of being active. It also is the best way for being sociable and interacting with other people(Ex: fans)... also In other words, YOUR ALL FAT and YOU HAVE NO FREINDS

Violence is entertainment, you dumb fuck.
I have many friends in New York and there's more than one way to excersize.
The best way to interact with people is in a store or other public places, not a stadium set up like a zoo palace. Most people in a stadium are too busy trying to see what's going on in the field below to care about their neighbors.

Right have you ever seen the film Greenstreet. To sum that film up in under 10 words is: 'A bunch of nutty football/soccer fans go around hurting people'. The violence was caused because of sports.

I remember one time several years ago, a friend of mine witnessed an extremely violent riot, and during the riot, a game broke out!

That's about the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Is that what you sports fans tell each other to make yourselves feel better? Sports are games. Games, by definition, are unproductive. Games are only played after everything important has already been accomplished and settled. Sports may be common to most civilizations but they are hardly the center. It would be more correct to say they were an after-thought.

That's how it should be anyway. I keep hearing of schools and cities who claim to have no money for important things, but spend millions on sports.

For me, sports is almost a never-thought.
I like to pretend that sports does not exist at all.
But unfortunately I can't!
Else, how would I be able to debate against these monkey-boys who have nothing but sports on their . . . . . uh . . . . . minds?
So, I'm faced with the unpleasant task of having to think about sports while telling these monkey-boys how much sports sucks!!!

The sad thing is that sports is like meth - no matter how little the addict takes, they're still going to want more. Then they start paying more, then they go to their friends and family for money. Once they had enough of they're mooching, they start giving even more important things away.
Pretty much how some sports fans treat sports. If they can't see it when they have the time, they'll sacrifice family time, work time, etc. just to watch some baboons chase each other around with a ball. Pitiful, in the least.

Like Hell he does!
He is a liar by the town clock!
How do you account for sports fans turning violent and rioting in the streets, breaking windows, setting fires, and overturning cars after a game?
And that's after their favorite team wins!!!
When their favorite team loses, then they get really pissed!
Sports is NOT what I would call the "pinnacle of peace, prosperity, and loyalty" but just the exact opposite.
Sports is the cause of violence, and it's boring! Ho! Hum!
And yes, I'm fat, but I do have friends.
As I have said before, I have a girlfriend who loves us fat guys! She thinks we fat guys are really cute! She hugs me like I'm her Teddy Bear, and she likes to rub my belly!

As Ray said in another post, the Olympics does nothing to phase war.
Ivy League wrote:The Olympics: #1 program that decreases the risk of war and the complete collapse of Nations..
So yeah! Lets get rid of it! [again, sarcasm]
Ray wrote:The Olympics have absolutely no effect on whether nations go to war or collapse --you ninny.
Your statement is so obviously misinformed, it doesn't deserve serious reserach but here are some indications proving that the Olympics have no effect -off the top of my head:
1. The Palestinian massacre of Israeli athletes DURING the Olympics. There was no hand holding Kum Bay Ya sung there.
2. The American boycotting of the 1980 Olympics due to its political opposition to Russia. Remember all those goofy athletes crying about not being able to go?
3. The constant assault on the torch as it was carried through various countries by supporters of Tibet. No peace and love there.
The Olympics have no effect on political goodwill. If anything, they are an expression of the current political climate.
