I turned 60 on September 30, and Earl is now 61, so we were the two oldest until now.

Yes, I don't think too highly of "Thanksgiving" either. I just call it Turkey Day. I don't give thanks on that day. I just use it as an excuse to chow down and pig out!
When anybody tells me that it's a religious holiday, I tell them that it reminds me of the Salem Witch Trials, how the white man stole land from the Native Americans, and that the Puritans or Pilgrims were all low-life scum, claiming to come here for religious freedom and to escape persecution, yet, they would not allow the same freedom for other religions, so the Pilgrims were all lying sacks of shit!
Actually, they were the dregs of English society, pick-pockets, prostitutes, thieves and rapists, and what-not, and they probably would have been hanged if they stayed in England. So they were allowed the opportunity to book passage on some leaky old tub called the Mayflower.
During their first winter at Plymouth Rock, more than half of these morons died off. They were so fucking stupid they didn't know jack-shit farming, hunting, or fishing. So, about half of these imbeciles died off, thus helping to chlorinate the human gene pool.
It was the Native American tribes (Indians) who taught them how to survive, and a few years later, these low-life scum-bag Pilgrims thanked them by attacking their villages, raping their women, and killing most of them off.
It's a good thing that these bed-wetting ignoramuses were not the "founding fathers" or our country. Most of them were illiterate morons incapable of making up Kindergarten sand-box rules.
OK. The REAL founding fathers of our country, they would come later on the scene. The were mostly intellectuals like Thomas Jefferson and Benjamen Franklin, etc. etc. and they were not Christians either! And anybody who says that the founding fathers were all Christians deserves a good smack-down!!!
No, most of them were either Deists, or had no religious affiliation. Very few were Christian, and the United States Government was originally intended to be a secular government, and not a Theocracy. We all know what happens under a Theocracy. No thank you! Been there, done that!
So, it's a good thing that our founding fathers were intellectuals, and that the Pilgrims or Puritans didn't get a chance to make all the laws. Those uneducated scums needed to be put in their place.
Anyway . . . . .
Now you know what I think of "Thanksgiving" and, that to me, it's just a Turkey Day! And when I have any friends over for a meal, I tell them all "no praying" let's just chow down and pig out and maybe get drunk.
Because, that's all it really is! Just and excuse to be gluttons, and not a religious holiday.
Also, I tell my guests, no football on TV!
