Yes, I am Detroitsportsfan08, won't deny that.

I wasn't going to post here again, but there's some things I need to say.

Starting off, I'm still clueless as to why I was banned. Other sports fans come in, make way more personal attacks towards you guys, troll, and overall just be an idiot. While I was attacked time and time again, for the most part I felt like I didn't really say anything mean or hateful back. I may have had a couple moments of vulnerability, but besides that, I felt like I was all right here.

And what I got in return here was blind hatred just because I like sports, and you guys don't. Think of what you guys despise. The jock, who stereotypes all of you guys as nerds, weak, or whatever. How are you any better than that when you stereotype me as being dumb just because I like sports? Everyone likes different things, for you guys to hate everyone who likes sports is irrational, and just as immature as the jocks who made fun of you,

I tried time and time again to be respectful towards Fat Man, Blackdog, and really all of you.

I think I was banned simply because I was a good poster who liked sports. I brought up valid points(that were often never disputed), had well written paragraphs, and you guys didn't want to deal with that. Despite what you say, it's easier for you to deal with trolls that come in here that can't form a coherent sentence. It makes making fun of sports and jocks that much easier for you guys, and that's how you like it.

Why hasn't Ivy League been banned, but yet I was? With all due respect to him, he is much more offensive to you guys and you would think he would be the one banned, but I guess not.

Fat Man never forgave me for saying his incident in school wasn't that big of a deal. I'd like to apologize to him, as what happened to him definitely qualifies as a big deal.

BTW, sportsrox is a tricky fellow. 2 weeks ago he loved sports, now he's a full blown sports hater. Either he's not real or he's just very easily influenced.

Will I be banned again? Probably, but I wanted you guys to know I know exactly why I was banned, and I take it as a sign of respect.

People change every day.I realized that sports really aren't that great for our society.I am not a fake i'm just saying that the people on this website have helped me realize that sports aren't all that great. Anyway you were probably banned because you have been starting stuff on these forums for so long and poison ivy has only been on these forums for a month or two now.And I don't know about anyone else on these forums but I know that fatman and I don't want poison ivy to get banned because it is fun to mess with him.

The only thing I tried to start was some discussion, and a decent debate with everyone here

Well, it was not just one isolated incident, but a number of incidents over an extended period of time when I was in school.

Getting suspended from school because I failed to climb a rope in the gymnasium, to you, that was NOTHING!

Being humiliated in the gymnasium in front of the other students, and getting punched in the stomach with a basketball, to you, that was NOTHING!

And getting my head bashed against the wall, you called that NOTHING, when I could have easily died from head injuries. I guess that on my headstone they could put, HE DIED OF NOTHING!

So, my offer of giving you NOTHING across the teeth with my cane, that offer still stands!

Detroitsportsfan08, I'm actually relieved that you've been able to make a comeback. As a Moderator in training, I'm opposed to your being banned again. If you click the Topic "Is mindless hate better than mindless sports?" and read the ninth post (which was posted by Skul), you will be pleasantly surprised. He thinks that you weren't treated right, and has come up with a list of rules, some of which have to do with how sports fans should be treated. I don't remember if I said this or not, but I've actually appreciated the times when you've been civil to me. I apologize for springing the satirical post on you. As I said in the Topic, it wasn't really aimed at you personally; but I shouldn't have sprung it on you anyway, because I had just been addressing you in my previous posts. So I apologize for that. I have never stereotyped you as a "dumb jock." I've never looked down on any decent athlete as a "dumb jock." As I said in one of my posts, I respect athletic achievement and prowess. I always have, but I don't favor preferential treatment for those who are jerks or worse. I've cultivated friendships with guys who played football in high school. One of them is a deacon in my congregation, a very dedicated Christian. He's a really nice guy who's never bullied anyone (and who, incidentally, has no problem with the idea of a website for people who don't like sports). I must say, though, that he did not become a better person just because he started playing football as a kid (as many people who promote football wrongly claim). He brought his decent values with him to the game. I once gave a financial contribution (a modest contribution, which was as much as I could afford to contribute at that time) to a Texas politician (now retired) named Bob Gammage when he was running for Congress in the fall of 1976. You may think I'm crazy as a loon after you read what I'm about to say, but one of the reasons why I supported him financially (in addition to the fact that I agreed with his political stances at that time) was because he had played college football! He was a political hero of mine, and I thought that it was really great that a former college football player shared my political views. I liked the idea of a former college player being on my side. (By the way, when I had driven over to his law office to drop off my contribution, he actually came out to greet me, even though my contribution wasn't much. And I later received a handwritten thank-you note from him in the mail. Most politicians send out form letters out of necessity. I was really impressed by that.) So I don't hate athletes. This may surprise you; but Fat Man acknowledges that many of the astronauts he admires played football in high school, and he doesn't hold that against them. There is a problem with communicating with others in an Internet Forum such as this. We're more likely to vent our anger. I still get hot under the collar sometimes, because I have a "hot button" issue or two. In the last day or two, my sister told me that name-calling erupted in a blog she visited about breeding dogs! You would think that such a dull subject would not elicit much passion at all, but it did. There is actually less communication because each one of us cannot see the expressions on the other person's face or hear nuances in his speech. Perhaps we can use this opportunity to be more considerate of others, and not view the Forum as some kind of a contest. I'm addressing myself as much as anyone else.

What you're saying here is some of the things I was trying to say in my final thread before I was banned.

Pretty much, just because someone plays or watches sports doesn't make them a bad person.

BanWrestlingPlz brought up some great points in his thread. 99 percent of sports fans don't worship sports, it's simply a means of entertainment, and all of us have lives outside of watching or playing sports. For a lot of the posters here, that kind of takes out the main people they have a beef with.

BTW, thanks for responding in a nice way as you have during my whole time here.

I will say I misinterpreted what had really happened the initial time you brought up, as I thought you were saying you just got bullied a little bit. Sorry for that.

Also, I can assure you that nothing like this would go on today between a teacher and student. Things just aren't like that anymore. Teachers are much softer on students.

In my PE classes, you try even a little bit and you get credit. Not like you have to be good.

OK, I acknowledge that not all sports fans are jerks, and not all athletes are bullies, and not all PE instructors or coaches are scum, that there are some decent people who like to watch sports, and then go on to other more important things in life, and there are some athletes, and even some coaches who have taken a moral stand against bullying. I'm sorry, but the good sports fans, the good athletes, and the good PE instructors and/or coaches, they do not make up 99% percent. They are in fact, a small minority. A very small minority!!!

If the majority of people in sports are good and decent people, as you claim, then why don't more of them come out and publicly renounce their fellow sports fans or their fellow athletes who are bullies. Why doesn't this mythical majority come out more often and speak out against bullying?

I'll tell you why. Because these good people are not the majority, else we would hear from them more often, and more action would be taken against the bullies.

But since the bullying still goes on in our schools, and since we still have PE instructors and coaches who are scum, then, I can only assume that the good and decent people in sports is but a very small minority.

When I was in school, I was not free to pursue my interest is the arts and sciences, and I even had a science teacher who refused to teach science and made us watch cartoons while he was out coaching his football team.

Because of the bullying and the beatings I had over the years, I eventually had a complete emotional and mental breakdown and spent three weeks in a psychiatric ward, where I was beaten some more by the ward attendants and one night, raped by an older man.

When I came home, there was no decent psychological counciling available. This was back in 1969, back when nobody believe that guys could get raped!

Ever since then, I have never been able to get my life back together. I have tried going back to school again, even went to college for three years, but was unable to complete my degree in science because I was under stress and had another breakdown. I am unable to cope with stress.

In recent years, I have been to a therapist, and have been diagnosed with PTSD, that's Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and it stays with you for life. There is no cure for it. Just as there are physical injuries that can cause one to be crippled for life, there is also emotional and mental trauma that can leave one emotionally crippled for life!

Who knows, if I had gone to decent schools, and if I had not been bullied around, I might be successful today. I might be teaching Astronomy in a university, or working in some observatory high up in the mountains, and I might have associated with people like Carl Sagan, Isaak Asimov, Arther C Clark, etc. etc. some really cool people. I have read almost all of their books, and I could have had the opportunity to associate with them.

But NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Thanks to America becoming a third-world Banana Republic ruled by the monkey-boys and the sports enforcers in our schools, I only got to know ignorant, uneducated, rude and crude Macho pigs who smelled like the inside of a fisherman's boot!

So, the fact remains, its the vast MAJORITY of sports fans who are total jerks, and a vast MAJORITY of athletes who are bullies, and a vast MAJORITY of PE instructors and coaches who are the scum of the earth.

I only had one PE instructor who was a decent person, and that was when I had a one semester course in collage pumping iron. I enjoyed that. But over the years in school, all the rest of my PE instructors were total jerks. And all of the jocks in my school were bullies. I did not know one athlete in my school who was not a bully. There might have been a few, but I didn't know them. I only knew the ones who were bullies.

And if my school was typical of schools across the nation, I can only conclude that the majority of people in sports are assholes!

My parents tried to get charges pressed against these people, but we were a poor family, and we could not afford an attorney.

Your right fatman bullying probably will never stop and here is my short theory on why bullying will never stop:first off most bullying is by jocks and they are total idiots.And every time that these brain dead jocks get suspended or get detentions for bullying they are so stupid that they come back to school right after they are done with their suspension and do it again!How stupid can these jocks be?!?!?!? I have seen this happen with my own eyes. And also you are right fatman most jocks and coaches are total jerks.

And then I have seen on the news a couple of times that people have killed themselves because they couldn't take all the bullying. Alot of the people that commited suicide were probably bullied by brain dead jocks. No one should have to get bullied so much that they end up commiting suicide it's just not right! The schools should be taking bullying more seriously then they are right now because they don't think that it is that big of a deal. I know that in my school jocks don't get in as much trouble as they should be and guess why that is. It is because the stupid principle in my school played in the NFL before he became a principal so he is brain dead to! It is just ridiculous! Anyway maybe my theory wasn't that short but I( hope that you guys agree with my theory.

Bullying is not a huge part of high school, and when it happens it's not a jock vs non-jock thing, it's a popular vs non-popular. Sports have little to do with bullying these days.

From what you tell me, high school has changed quite a bit since you went.
