Re: The sport I liked wasn't cool enough
Welcome to the forum. As a sports hater myself, I can definitely a lot of your pain. As a high school student, I'm definitely not enjoying the massive emphasis on athletics, which in my opinion, dodges away from what matters most, academics. The equivalent of hockey here by popularity in where I liv...

I'm sure you have to put up with a load of self-centred, arrogant yobs every day who only care about personal gain and being the best all the time. The ones who can't acknowledge the fact that life is not all about competition. That's actually quite the truth. I could probably go on a tangent about...

Re: The Old Music Thread
I listen to a fair bit of old music as well. It would depend on what you consider old music, but some of my favorties lie between the time periods between 1600 to 1920. Here one that I listen to from time to time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvm2ZsRv3C8 It's Fantasie Impromptu by Chopin, his very...

Re: Introductions
Hi, I am new here, obviously XD. Well I joined because I hate sports, and always have ever since I was in elememtary school. I may be 16 but my rage and hatred for such barbabric activites such as sports, has built up since I was 7 years old. Welcome to the forum. I'm glad to see that more people a...

Re: I'm sad for future generations if this is all we care ab
Addressing the original post, yes, I agree. It's quite sad that people aren't actually paying attention to the injuries that football players endure. They only care if he's going to be able to play or not. To someone, it may sound like that people actually care, albeit not so much in my eyes. An inj...

Re: The "I will be away for a while" thread
It's quite understandable that you're not posting as much 1981. Medical problems are really things that should be taken with extreme caution. Better to be safe than sorry. I really hope you feel better soon. Do as much as you can to get yourself back to full health. Well, I don't post a lot here eit...

Re: Why do you support (or oppose) this website?
Honestly, I may have forgotten the exact reason when or how I came across this site. I only remember joining as I was fed up with the way sports was being treated by a majority of people. Sport is driven in my throat every time I go to school, I have gotten sick of it and thus, I joined. I never ima...

Re: chess and coffee clubs
Have you read anything by Kurt Vonnegut?. Unfortunately, no. I'm in the middle of reading some other books, the "House of Night" series by P.C. and Kristin Cast and the "Psy-Changeling" series by Nalini Singh. As much as I loathe Young Adult Novels, they provide a very good read...

Re: chess and coffee clubs
I usually go to my school's library from time to time, only during lunch or enrichment periods. I read classic novels or informative books. I stray from anything marked as "YA" or "Young Adult." I also play a fair share of video games, one of my favorite series is Final Fantasy. ...

Re: Last thing you Watched/Read.
The last book I remember reading is Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer.
I only remember reading until around page 200-300. I no longer have the patience to read through the rest.

Re: Reading Fiction: Flawed Characters or not?
Does your school have a literary magazine? Unfortunately, no. Reading or writing isn't exactly much supported here, unless you're an AP or Honors English student. I have browsed the reading lists for these advanced english classes, I bought all of the books from their repertoire, just so I can see ...

Re: AFL Incidents - Crimes Committed By Drooling Moronic Joc
This is just... I don't even know what to say... The amount of crimes performed just baffles me. It's amazing just how many things jocks can get away with, when a normal person would be punished and be probably sent to jail depending on the severity of the crime. Shame... Shame... Re: Greetings from England
Bonjour! (Excuse the French greeting, very random on my behalf) Welcome to the forum. I can definitely understand your hate for sport. It's quite amazing that we both hate it in a relatively same reason, which is drive it down other people's throats, or something close to that. However, for me, my h...

Re: Reading Fiction: Flawed Characters or not?
Well, I myself am an avid reader. I find myself relating to characters that have flaws and strengths, as long as they can balance out each other. I can't really relate to characters that have flaws and no strengths or strengths and no flaws, they just seem to take it too far and become unrealistic. ...
