Stupid article: Sports hatred must stop

Post by Skul »

This has got to be the stupidest load of crap I've ever read. You can tell it's stupid from the moment you read the title.

The very first paragraph reads thusly:
There are many things that irritate me, and one of them has to do with some people's hatred towards sports. This is one thing that makes me want to scream and pull my hair out.
Moron.

Oh yeah, sports hated must stop! Yup, can't go through a day without hearing about sports hating on the news, radio, from other people...

How about this: Sports worship must stop!

This idiot is acting like we sports haters are everywhere. Maybe he comes from the future when we intelligent people have managed to eradicate sports and things are the opposite: To like sports is to be considered weird, gay and unpatriotic. A glimmer of hope? :)

Apparently, he too used to think sports were boring, but his 'friends' pressured him into it and turned him into one of those sports fans. Some friends...

I've got some news for this guy. I HAVE watched entire games, even been to a few live ones, and I guess all that excitement just failed to rub off on me. I was just bored out of my skull and wondering how much longer the darn thing was going to drag on. So much for his theory.

Oh well, screw him. He needs to find something that is actually worth getting this upset over.

How did you find this? Some random community college paper! LOL

The tone of this article is hysterical. To assume a person can't decide whether they'll like something without ever seriously trying it. I've never knitted a sweater, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't enjoy it.

Simply searched for "sports are boring" and it showed up after a couple of pages.

You know, when I read that, I immediately thought of that 13-year-old punk (Sportsarentbad) who said something similar.

Wrong! There are some things you just know you'll hate without trying. As for watching entire matches... does being so bored not five minutes in and leaving to do something more engaging count? I'm not going to sit through ninety minutes of tedium to decide whether or not I like it. I'd rather eat the rotten asshole of a roadkilled skunk. Not the nicest thing in the world to do, but it's better than watching a bunch of rich meatheads kick a ball around.

damn fine work, detective! Yes, it IS a piece of work.

I wonder what's got him so upset. Is there really that many people who don't like sports that he noticed? I thought we were a minority. I mean, there's lots of people who don't really care about sports but most of them are kind of ambivalent...have a sort of take it or leave it attitude. If there are growing numbers of sports haters, so much so that they feel the heat, that is encouraging! I say spam 'im!

It was written in 2003, so replying to it probably won't do anything. Will he even care about a four-year-old article anymore? Will he even remember a four-year-old article? Keep in mind this is a sports fan and many, many games have happened between then and now, including the American football stuporbore and soccer world bore.
