WARNING! DO NOT DOWNLOAD VIDEOS FROM ZML.COM!!!

Post by Fat Man »

OK, yesterday, I purchased a movie video, the movie titled Idiocracy from ZML.com and it was only suppose to cost me 90 cents.

But today, I checked my Wells Fargo on line bank account, and I have a balance of $ -33.69 because of a purchase I did not make.
05/10/10 CHKCARDABOVEMALL.COM ABOVEMACOMRURU -- $51.27
05/10/10 CHKCARDSKILLFULDEAL.COVICTORI SCRU ----------$2.99
I have never heard of ABOVEMALL.COM and they hit me with a $51.27 charge for I know not what!
And then another charge for $2.99 for God know what!

So, I called Wells Fargo to dispute these charges which will be refunded back to me within 5 days, and once again, I have to get a new debit card and have the old one canceled.

This sucks!

Going out on the Internet is like going out into the ghetto and getting mugged!

That sucks. I rarely buy things off of the Internet. The only time I have bought things off of the Internet recently were two things:

A copy of Bad Religion's record Into the Unknown from 1983. This record costed about $160 on Ebay because it is extremely rare. This is because the record was extremely unlike most of their records, as it was slower and had synths, unlike most of their fast, punk rock songs. When they released it, the punk community didn't like it at all, so they took all of the copies back before barely anyone bought it. Because of this, there are only a couple hundred to a couple thousand copies in the entire world (it's hard to put a number on the amount of copies out there because the statements from the record stores who sold them and the statements from the band differ greatly, so nobody knows how many copies are out there). The band generally hates the album and is ashamed of it, therefore it likely won't ever be re-released, even though most Bad Religion fans don't mind the record anymore. Since this record was so rare, I had to buy it.

The other thing I bought off of the Internet was from Bad Religion's merchandise store when they released only 500 copies of their record Against the Grain on yellow vinyl, in the sound quality they were before they digitally remastered the record. It only costed about $20. I bought it from them because I could trust them because I trust the band and the merchandise store has a good reputation, and I needed to own it because it, like Into the Unknown, was extremely rare.

So as you can see, I only purchase things off of the Internet when it is something that I want really badly. I just generally dislike supplying information online to purchase items, and so do my parents who would have to supply their credit card number online.

I also have learned not to order anything advertised on TV.

Back in 2003 when I was still using dial-up, I saw an advertisement for a new kind of modem that would alert me when I was getting a phone call so I could go off line, answer my phone, then go back on line again, that way I wouldn't be missing any phone calls.

They only wanted $20 dollars for their special modem, so I called their toll-free number, gave them my Visa Card number and ordered the modem.

When I got it, I was unable to make it work, so I sent it back. Yes, my $20 dollars was refunded back into my bank account.

But then, a week later, when checking my on line bank account, I was hit with an over-draft fee and was charged $100 dollars by MWI, Member Works Incorporated.

I did a Google search for MWI and it took me a couple of hours to find their toll-free number, and when I called them, they said that I was being charged for "goods and services" that I had ordered. I told them that I did not order anything from MWI, and that I have never even heard of MWI in my life, that the only thing I ordered was a $20 dollar modem that I saw advertised on TV. I also told them that I was on SSI Disability and could not afford to be ripped off. After arguing with them for over an hour, they finally agreed to refund my $100 dollars back into my bank account.

Then I call my bank, and got the over-draft fee refunded back into my account.

So, after that, I will not order anything advertised on TV, not unless they're willing to receive a money order instead. If not, then fuck 'em!!!

Oh! I just love all of these TV commercials for weight loss diet and/or exercise products! Wanna bust the big belly? Wanna lose those love-handles, then try our latest diet products or our latest exercise gizmos. We are then shamed into buying their snake oil, and then after ordering their latest shit, we get hit with addition charges for stuff we didn't order from some company we never even heard of.

That's why I don't order stuff advertised on TV anymore, and that's why I HATE CAPITALISM!!!

And now, it's not even safe to order stuff on the Internet. I ended up getting charged over $50 dollars for something that was only suppose to cost me 90 cents.

I once ordered a song, Endomorph by Rasputina from either i tunes or Rhapsody to download, and it only cost me a dollar, and when I checked my on line bank account, I was only charged a dollar and their were no additional charges.

I also order some Jewish songs from CD Baby. Normally the CD disc for the songs would have cost about $10 dollars, but it only cost me $5 dollars to download the songs and save them to my computer.

So, it's safe to order from i tunes or Rhapsody or CD Baby.

But I had thought it would be safe ordering a video to download from ZML.COM, but apparently, it's not safe to order and download movie videos from ZML.COM because then you'll have additional charged added by ABOVEMALL.COM, a company I never heard of.

In the meantime, I went to the web site at ABOVEMALL.COM and I had to log in with my E-mail address. I was then directed to a page for Billing Support.

Then I clicked on Cancel and I was directed to another web page, where I check the following options and entered my complaint in a text window.
Cancel Rebill:
Are you sure you want to stop subscription #2169273?

Why do you want to cancel your membership?

1. I was not aware of the recurring billing. x
2. I can't afford the service. x
3. I didn't like the speed of downloads.
4. Customer support is unsatisfactory. x
5. The content selection is too poor.
6. Other x - FRAUD!
I was led to believe that I would only be charged 90 cents for downloading a single movie video from ZML.com but I was not aware that I would be charged an additional $57.27 and an additional $2.99 by ABOVEMALL.COM!!! I have never heard of ABOVEMALL.COM and the 90 cent charge for downloading the video does not show up in my bank account, only the $57.27 and the $2.99 charges show up in my account.

What the Hell is going on here? I demand that these two charges be refunded back into my bank account. I have already filed complaints against you for FRAUD!!!

I want these two charges refunded back in my account immediately like YESTERDAY!!!
I hope to get a response from them soon because they do have my E-mail address.

Anyway, I intend to file fraud charges against ZML.COM and ABOVEMALL.COM and I hope some people end up serving some time in prison where they will have a cellmate named Bubbah.

My advice to them will be, don't drop the soap, and don't bend over to pick it up!

I did a Google search on ZML.COM and I found the following . . .

ZML Reviews

ZML.com is a movie download site based out of Russia. ZML.com has thousands of movies available for download, and charge a $39.90 monthly fee.

ZML offers movies in a variety of formats. You can often choose from iPod, PDA, DivX, DVD and HD. The catch, however, is that not every movie is available in every single format. Some movies offer all five, while others only offer DivX and PDA, while others might offer DVD and iPod. There's no predicting which movies might come in which formats, so we sure hope you're not married to a particular format if you actually want to download some of your favorite movies.

Pros: There are five different formats, with differing quality levels and download sizes.

Cons: They automatically bill a customer $39.99 24 hours after he/she has paid 99 cents for a 1 day trial. There is no native downloader offered there, just the standard click-to-download web interface. Also, the company appears to have over-hyped what the product actually delivers. But the biggest concern is they don't have money back guarantee, they won't even answer your email if you ask for a refund.

ZML.com is legal in Russia, that is it. It is legal only because of some loophole in Russian "law." Websites like this are basically posting material that can be found on p2p/torrent sites and charging people for it. They are taking content without permission (it also isn't theirs to sell) and selling it. These Russian websites are ripping people off by charging for content that is mostly from torrent sites.

Why not check out the rest of our reviews for sites that are better than ZML.com anyway...
So, I guess I'm screwed! Royally screwed, as in plowed up the ol' wazoo!!!

Yeah! Like, bend over and spread 'em apart!

But I did cancel my account with ZML.COM and since I'm getting a new Visa Debit Card, they can't charge me every month.

But I'm going to call my bank, and I'm going to tell them I don't give a damn is ZML.COM originates in Russia, I want that money refunded back into my account anyway.

Yeah! The Russians have learned how to rip us off! They learned from the greedy capitalist pigs here in the good ol' USA. They learned their lessons well.

And they probably don't even execute pedophiles in Russia anymore because pedophilia is another great big money maker!

Russia is an even bigger threat now than they were when they were still Commies!

I was going to go and download that movie "Idiocracy" last night after returning from my usual Monday gym session. I was quite eager to check it out, and yes, I was going to use the link you specified. But then I saw your warnings and decided not to risk it! So thanks for that. I suppose it's better to just buy these things on DVD so you know you're not going to get ripped off by some anonymous internet scammer manipulating your bank details. I don't download films off the internet because chances are it won't be just the film you're going to get! Good fun can come at a cost! Sorry to hear you're having to change your debit card again. There are some right crooks on the internet, and it's so much easier to scam someone when there is no facial contact. It's a fun place, the internet, but as with the world we live in now, there are plenty of undesirable areas you may want to keep your distance from!
