Like 1981 said, that feeling of dominance leads to the abuse, which can be psychological or physical, of people who don't succeed at sports.Safety wrote:Although it does feel good to be someone at a sport you know they're good at. That feeling of dominance can never be matched.
And I disagree that it can never be matched. For I feel the best way to feel superior to someone is to succeed at life more than they have. That'll be quite easy for me to beat the people who bullied me at life who were good at sports while I weren't, for most (I think the term "most" is a bit generous, it'd be closer to "all") of them weren't the brightest students, and most of them had ADHD. I can see the day where if my career goes as planned, I'll be an architect making a good living, and maybe one day I'll bump into one of the people who bullied me in school on the streets. Maybe he'll be laying down on a makeshift bed with an upside down hat filled with a couple dimes and nickels. And maybe I'll be a nice guy and toss him a quarter. While laughing at his inferiority. Then I'll continue on my way to wherever I'm headed with a smile on my face knowing that I beat him at life. You can hardly say the feeling of beating someone at a sport can't be matched.
