OK, everybody . . .
In another topic I had posted titled:
El Paso Texas Dangerous City For The Physically Handicapped
http://www.sportssuck.org/phpbb2/viewto ... f=7&t=4736
Toward the bottom of the topic I had mentioned that I finally got my $250 compensation check after some moron at Home Depot had slashed my leg with a blade while removing the old nylon straps from my JAZZY power chair before the new ones were installed.
Anyway . . . . .
When I got my check, yesterday (Thursday October 28) I went to PC Technologies to get stuff to upgrade my computer.
I have two hard drives, my Master C: Drive on which Windows is installed, and my Slave, the D: Drive which is 400 gigabytes.
Well, I bought a new 160 gigabyte for my Master C: Drive to replace the old 40 gigabyte hard drive on which Windows XP Professional was on and I bought the new Windows 7 to install on my new 160 gigabyte hard drive.
OK, all well and good. My computer does run much faster now.
But there is a slight problem.
I'm now using my old CRT Monitor instead of my new Synapse wide screen monitor because everything looked squashed vertically and stretched out horizontally, and I only had two screen resolution settings available.
Where as on my Windows XP, I had five different screen resolution settings, and I was able to set it to the maximum of 1360 x 768.
So, I disconnected my new Synapse monitor and I'm using an old monitor, and now I have three different settings available and I'm using the maximum setting at 1280 x 1024. At least now, the images don't look squashed vertically ans stretched out horizontally anymore. But the old monitor still sucks because I have no idea how much longer it will last before it quits.
I'm going to have to install a new video card, because this computer is using an old standard VGA graphics adapter.
It's going to cost me $60 dollars for a new video card so I can go back to using my new Synapse monitor again.
Ah! But that's not all.
I tried installing my GIF animator and it won't run. The program won't even open. It was a free program I had downloaded off the Internet several years ago. So, I had to download a new version, but then, it's going to cost me $39 dollars to register it. It's a trial version.
Oh! But it gets even better. A couple of years ago I bought the new HP Oficejet J4580 All-in-One. It's a combination printer, copier, scanner, and FAX. It cost me $90 dollars.
Well, this evening I tried to install the software for it on my new Windows 7, and it's incomparable, so it's now a $90 dollar piece of shit that's just sitting there doing nothing.
I went to the HP website to download an updated driver, but when I installed it, the program won't open.
I'm really disappointed in Windows 7 because I can't do anything artistic or creative as I could with Windows XP Professional.
Yes, I can get on the Internet, and get my E-mails.
But that's about it!
I want to go back to Windows XP Professional.
But you can't get it anymore!
Well, I want my own copy of Windows XP Professional again so that I don't have to throw away a perfectly good HP Officejet J4580 All-in-One.
I still have the old hard drive with Windows XP on it, and I could put it back in again, but it's an old hard drive and my computer will run slow again.
I'M TIRED OF GETTING FUCKED!
I HATE AMERICA! THIS COUNTRY ONLY PRODUCES CRAPPY PRODUCTS THAT DON'T WORK, AND WE HAVE TO ACTUALLY PAY FOR SHIT THAT DOESN'T WORK!!!
One way or another, through legal means, or illegal means, I don't give a fuck, but some how, some way, I'm going to get my own copy of Windows XP Professional.
Even if I have to get it at gun point or take hostages!!! I don't give a fuck!!!
People have stolen from me, and ripped me off and have committed violent crimes against me and have gone unpunished.
I think I'm entitled to commit a crime, just one crime, and get away with it!
Just one crime! Please! Just one crime! OK?

Re: Upgraded My Computer - But I'm Screwed!!!
OK, here's an update on my computer situation.
This is one of these nights when I can't sleep, so I decided to see if I can install some more of my favorite programs.
I installed my Microsoft Train Simulator program, and it did install successfully, but I can't run it until I get a new video card installed.
Then I installed my Virtual Moon Atlas, which is a really cool program. Of course, when I installed the 10 additional JPG files, I had to install each one of them twice, because the first installation of each one was not compatible with Windows 7, so when the gray panel appeared, I clicked on the option to re-install so that the files would be compatible. Well, I got my Virtual Moon Atlas to work.
Then I installed Stellarium which is a program the shows the constellations, sort of like Skyglobe that came out many years ago, but this one is much better. Well, it works!
But I'm having a problem with Google Earth. It's installed alright, but it won't run.
In the afternoon, I'm going to call Comp USA where I bought my HP Officejet J4580, and I'm going to tell them that it won't run on Windows 7, and I'm going to demand that they send me a new installation CD disk so that it will install properly and run, and I'm not going to pay for it either. I paid $90 dollars for my HP Officejet J4580, and I'll be damned if I have to pay for a new disk.
And if I don't get satisfaction, I'm going to take my HP Officejet J4580 back to Comp USA and exchange if for something that will work on my computer, and if they refuse, then I'll just throw the fucker down on the floor and smash it to pieces right in front of them, and I'll go out to a phone, dial 911, and have them all arrested for fraud, then I'll call the Better Business Bureau and sue the bastards.
I'm getting sick and tired of getting ripped off!
It seems that Windows 7 does not like having new programs installed. Every time I install a program, a gray panel appears with a warning that installation will make changes in my computer, but I click on the option to continue installing anyway.
You know, when you add a new room to your house, or take out the old plumbing and put in new pipes, or re-wire your home, you're making changes to your house.
So, adding new software is suppose to make changes in your computer, so that your computer can do more stuff.
HELLO!!! HELLO!!! HELLO!!!
THAT'S THE WHOLE IDEA BEHIND MAKING CHANGES TO YOUR COMPUTER, SO THAT YOU CAN PLAY SOME VIDEO GAMES, OR RUN A SIMULATION PROGRAM, OR PLAY MUSIC, OR CREATE WORKS OF ART, SO YOU CAN DO MORE SHIT WITH YOUR COMPUTER!!!
HELLO! HELLO! HELLO!
But NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
It seems that now-a-days, change is not good!
So, what am I suppose to do with my computer? Just sit there and look at it and do nothing?
The new Windows 7 should be called Windows Nanny!!!
Well, since I can't sleep tonight, I'm just going to have some coffee, smoke a cigar, and then see what else I can't install or run on my new Windows 7!
FUCK THIS FUCKING SHIT!!!

Re: Upgraded My Computer - But I'm Screwed!!!
Well, now I have another issue.
I can't import bookmarks from html files on my Mozilla Firefox as I could when I was using Windows XP. I can't do shit with Windows 7!!!
Now, I can remember many years ago back in 1984 when Windows 3.0 first came out. It's nothing compared to what we have now, but back then it was the thing.
Then there was Windows 95 which was much better, and Windows 98 was pretty good, better than Windows 95. Each time they came out with a new version of Windows it was better than the previous version. Windows XP Professional was THE very best!!!
Then there was Windows Vista, and I heard a lot of complaints that it ran too slow, so Windows 7, which I'm using now, was suppose to have corrected those issues.
Yes, Windows 7 does run fast, but I can't do shit with it!!!
I'm going to find out if I can file a class action lawsuit against Microsoft.
It use to be that when ever they came out with a newer version of Windows that it was better than the previous versions.
But now, the latest versions, Windows Vista and Windows 7 is a real suck-fest!!!
Yeah! Now when they come out with something new, it's not as good as the previous version. Everything they make now is pure unadulterated CRAP!!!
Well, I'm going to see what else I can't do anymore!!!
FUCK THIS SHIT!!!
Oh! And now a another new problem has just come up.
The animated graphics at the bottom of my forum posts are moving real slow. My dancing fat men, and my pounding judge's gavel are moving in slow motion.
THIS IS BULL SHIT!!!

Re: Upgraded My Computer - But I'm Screwed!!!
OK, another update.
This afternoon I called HP Tech Support, and this time I downloaded a new updated driver for my HP Officejet J4580. I was guided through a step by step process over the phone.
I un-installed the previously installed programs and restarted my computer, and installed the new software from the HP web site.
This time, a new icon did appear on the desk top, and when I clicked on it, the program did open, but there was an error message, and it would not run.
After two hours of fiddling around, I called HP Tech Support again and was told that a diagnostic would cost me $60 dollars and there was no guarantee that it would solve the problem and that I may have to buy a new device.
GREAT! It's only a couple of years old, and it's not like I use it every day. The last time I used it was about a month ago when I had Windows XP.
In the past, I have had printers and scanners that lasted five years or more before having to replace them.
Well, I'm tired and there is nothing more I can do today.
Tomorrow I'm going to open up my computer, disconnect the new hard drive that has Windows 7 on it, reconnect the old hard drive that still has Windows XP on it, and then check to see if my HP Officejet J4580 still works.
And if it does, then I'm going to call HP Tech Support and give them a piece of my mind!
If I can't get another new copy of Windows XP anymore because Microsoft no longer supports it, so I guess that I will have to use an old pirated version that I bought 5 years ago to re-install my Windows XP on my new hard drive.
At the time I bought the Windows XP, I had no idea it was a pirated copy. I bought if off the Internet for only $58 dollars because it was on sale.
And when I installed it, and ran it on my computer, it worked just fine, except I could only download the first 2 or 3 updates and it would not download anymore updates for Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3, so I did have some security issues, and then it would get screwed up, so every few months I would have to format the hard drive and re-install my Windows XP again.
I may have to go back to using it again, and re-install it on my new hard drive.
So, if I can't get my new Windows 7 to work the way I like, then I will re-install my old Windows XP Professional Yo Ho Ho And A Bottle Of Rum Version!
I'll be happy when I have my good ol' Windows XP Professional running on my brand new hard drive, even if I have to re-install it every few months or so.
Then I'll be a great big fat and jolly happy pirate again!!!
