I'm a new guy...Mind if I vent a little?

This is my first post.

I HATE SPORTS!!!!!!


I mentioned this on another discussion board which shall remain nameless and I was called all kinds of names like GAY and FA**OT, because I don't like sports.

I am a WRESTING fan, at least we know thats scripted. I think today's pro sports is just as phony. At least VINCE admits it and puts on a good show, none of his refs work for the mob.

I just don't get sports, we have a rec room at work with a TV set and it always has to be on sports because it's the MANLY thing to do BASEBALL,FOOTBALL,HOCKEY,BASKETBALL,TENNIS,GOLF....any kind of competitive sport. One day I said "what the hell..." and turned to ANIMAL PLANET! and you know what...just as many people if not more sat down to look at the animals and nature,

All these manly men and yet I have yet too see them in the gym my job provides for us. Most of these sports nuts out weight me by a hundred pounds if not more.

I'm 35 years old, I can still remember growing up in Brooklyn, N.Y. you could pluck any kid out of a classroom and he could tell you the whole line up for the New York Knicks or the Chicago Bulls, or just name any player and they could mention that players statistics from their rookie year until now...BUT ASK THEM IF THEY DID LAST NIGHTS HOMEWORK OR WHAT DID THEY GET ON THE LAST POP QUIZ!!!!!

And personally I have no interest watching a bunch of rich spoiled athletes who bust their a** to get where they are to act like little punks and forget where they came from.

Tired of every year reading about one of these guys fighting over their damn contracts....WHO CARES? I love watching the guys at work discuss A-ROD or DEREK JETER's next contract sighning....LIKE THEY GETTING A PEICE

And personally why watch a whole boring 3 hour football game when I can catch all the best highlights in 2 minutes on the evening news.

Hah! I do similar at the TV in my gym's locker room. I suppose since it's in the Men's locker room, they figure everyone is gonna love watching ESPN while they change clothes. Whatever. When no one's around, I sneak up to it, stand on my toes, and reach for the channel up button. I've found if I press it like 4 times really fast, I can change it to Comedy Central and be back to the bench changing clothes and no one knows it.
And like your story...eventually just as many people watch that as they do the sports. So why was it on in the first place?

Welcome! I like wrestling too --or at least I used to. It just doesn't seem like sports to me -- nobody rambles on and on and on about it at work the way they do about "real" sports! It's just good entertainment.

I quit watching about the time Stephany McMahon was on every show. I didn't stop watching because of her --I think my work schedule changed or something. Anyway, W E L C O M E!!
