February 12th is Charles Darwin's Birthday!!!

Post by Fat Man »

I just got a PM this evening reminding me that this Saturday, February 12, 2011 is Charles Darwin's birthday. He was born 202 years ago.

Incidentally, it was back on Thursday, February 12, 2009 when I joined our anti-sports forum, which was Charles Darwin's 200th birthday.

Image

Then, August 26, 2009 was also the 400th anniversary of Galileo's telescope.

So, the year 2009 was a very special year for me.

What's so important about Charles Darwin and Galileo? They were both wrong and are now burning in Hell.

Um, maybe that they promoted science and learning, and a willingness to think for themselves, instead of following what was popular at the time?

Aren't unsupported assertions just *so* cute?

Would you care to back those statements with facts and evidence?

Well, may I be the first to wish Fat Man a happy 2 year anniversary on this forum!

There was a time last year, Safety, when I suspected you might have been some 4channer who came in some time after the original raids to work up some bad attention on this forum. I've let this drop for the last few months, but I'm starting to become suspicious again and until you back up your assertions in this quote with some solid information as to why you think this, I'm going to have to bring that suspicion back.

Best regards,

I agree, that statement has troll written all over it. I remember many of his posts contained what could be seen as 4chan references, but I thought he might have adapted these 4chan memes from somewhere else, as I've heard several memes outside of 4chan despite the fact that they originated in 4chan. But that statement seems quite a lot like a post intended to cause controversy here.

Oh! This is good! Yeah! I really love this!

Thank you very much! You really made my day!

Yeah! Thanks for showing us all what a moron you really are!

This is exactly what I expect to get from some retarded slope-headed, stooped-shouldered, knuckle-dragging, slack-jawed, mouth-breathing, drooling moron with shit for brains and having a single digit IQ who thinks THIS IS GOD!!!

Yeah! This is going to end real good!

No, I don't think he's merely trolling!

He's just an imbecile, a typical brainwashed sports fan fuck-tard who probably flunked on his ass when he was in high school and only learned how to fold paper footballs!

He probably disrupted all of his classes throwing paper airplanes and spit-wads at his teachers, and spent more hours in detention than he did in all of his classes.

I believe that the board moderators should change his forum rank from Sportsman to Sports Bore and give him the Jersey Of Shame!

Image

He's probably a Republican!

Or rather, a Retardican!!!

OH! FUCK THIS SHIT!

JUST BAN HIS FUCKING ASS!!!

You know, it's precisely because of low-life scum-sucking dirt-bags like Safety, whom I have had the misfortune to encounter when I was in school, that were responsible for my getting harassed and bullied around, and causing me to get my head bashed against a brick wall by a sports obsessed teacher who would not allow me to check out astronomy books from the school library.

Way to go Safety!

I wanted to celebrate the birthday of Charles Darwin today, but now I'm in a bad mood! You really fucked it up for me today!

You're such a drooling wet pants little twat and a moronic imbecile that you can even fuck up a wet dream!

You're a real piece of dog-shit! You know that?

Oh! Now I see it!

The nerds and geeks who are not interested in sports, not only are they fags and unpatriotic, but they are also heretics! Eh?

So, that is the card you obnoxious sports bores are going to play now! Eh?

First you all play the fag card! Then the Un-American or unpatriotic card, or the Commie card! Now you're going to dig back down into that old moldering shit-bag of tricks from the Dark Ages, and try once again to play the Heretic Card! Eh?

Is that it?

Now all the sports fans, all the jocks, and all the coaches, instead of referring to anybody who doesn't like sports as fags, or unpatriotic, you're going to refer to us as heretics?

So now, instead of getting beaten and bullied around, you're going to start dousing us with lighter fluid and throw matches at us?

You dirt-bag!

Why do you call yourself Safety?

You're not safe!

You're a dangerous psychopath who should be locked up so far away that you won't even be able to hear the dogs barking!

Have a nice day!

DIRT BAG!!!

"Try reading Genesis."

At least, that's probably the best answer you'll ever get on this from a die-hard Christian American.

They never provide detailed arguments about just what was wrong with old scientific theories. They just point to the Bible as their argument.

It's a real shame, because once upon a time, Christian theologians actually cared about making their world view and their beliefs square with naturalistic philosophy. One of the finest examples of this was Thomas Aquinas, who tried to reconcile the Christian faith with Aristotle from what I've heard. However, I don't know many of the details surrounding that, as I've never paid much attention to religion or philosophy.

Thank you very much RF.

It's just too bad Safety had to come in here and drop his diaper and smear his retarded shit all over this topic!

He needs to go back to Kindergarten.

Actually, both Darwin and Galileo were of Christian backgrounds. Darwin was a believer in the literal truth of the Bible even up to the time he set out on his famous voyage on the Beagle. Afterwards, he couldn't reconcile a belief in an all-powerful, all-loving god with what he saw in nature (i.e. some organisms had to die so that others might live) and he considered himself an agnostic the remainder of his life, although his wife attended church and he maintained good relations with some church officials.

Galileo was a Roman Catholic and remained so until his death, from what I've been able to read on him. He was imprisoned under house arrest for going against "official" church doctrine with his theories, and was ordered to publicly recant, but I don't believe he denounced Christianity or Catholicism itself.

Newton and Copernicus were also prominent Renaissance-era scientists who espoused both Christianity and the scientific method.

I think that Safety should get the SPAMMER rank for now. He's not completely obnoxious or stupid (I'm thinking outside this thread here, in general) but he is rather provocative and ambiguous. He should get the SPAMMER rank, and only be able to lose it if he can improve the content and quality of his posts. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see any new developments.
You're such a drooling wet pants little twat...
Wow, I didn't know that word was used outside of Britain. You don't hear words like "douche bag" or "jackass" used over here. English swear words are now a global trademark, it seems.
I wanted to celebrate the birthday of Charles Darwin today, but now I'm in a bad mood!
I completely understand. You have a right to be mad. There was really no need for that comment, and I'm sure Safety knew damn well the consequences of what he was doing. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't post here again for a few more weeks, if at all.

But don't let one comment on the internet spoil your admiration for Darwin. Personally, I've always been more convinced of the evolution theory than the creationist theory, so you have my support here. Absolutely no coddling whatsoever, just what I truly think.
or the Commie card...
Given what you were posting on the Picture Association thread this morning, I wouldn't say this card would harm you too much. :D

Okay, i_like_1981, but you should know that the acceptability of "creation science" is an increasingly common delusion within the United States, so Safety isn't necessarily trying to sound ignorant. Don't blame the scholar; blame the schools.

Skul also thought Safety was trolling, but, like yourself, Skul lives in a civilised country.

PS--And therefore I disagree that we should brand Safety a "SPAMMER" for something that really ... isn't his fault. :!:

Well, he is entitled to believe what he wants to believe, and he can express that in this forum if he wishes. I have no problem if he wants to defend sports on here, but when he comes shooting onto a thread and decries the subjects of another user's admiration in such a blunt, unjustified way, it borders on trolling, you know. I wouldn't go onto a thread started by another person and put down their beliefs without trying to explain myself and Safety shouldn't have done that either.

And this ain't the first time I've noticed he's been trying to troll Fat Man. I've noticed that a few times already. I'm not saying that people shouldn't be entitled to express their disagreements with him, especially not when they justify themselves perfectly in what they're doing like you do, recovering_fan, but when people start making provocative, brief comments with the obvious intent of winding him up, then I view it as trying to cause a distraction on this forum and don't really like it. If you don't want other people to have to give up their time clearing up and tending to the mess, don't put your hand in the cage and poke the lion with the warning signs big and clear.
