It's a real shame, because once upon a time, Christian theologians actually cared about making their world view and their beliefs square with naturalistic philosophy. One of the finest examples of this was Thomas Aquinas, who tried to reconcile the Christian faith with Aristotle from what I've heard. However, I don't know many of the details surrounding that, as I've never paid much attention to religion or philosophy.

Actually, both Darwin and Galileo were of Christian backgrounds. Darwin was a believer in the literal truth of the Bible even up to the time he set out on his famous voyage on the Beagle. Afterwards, he couldn't reconcile a belief in an all-powerful, all-loving god with what he saw in nature (i.e. some organisms had to die so that others might live) and he considered himself an agnostic the remainder of his life, although his wife attended church and he maintained good relations with some church officials.

Galileo was a Roman Catholic and remained so until his death, from what I've been able to read on him. He was imprisoned under house arrest for going against "official" church doctrine with his theories, and was ordered to publicly recant, but I don't believe he denounced Christianity or Catholicism itself.

Newton and Copernicus were also prominent Renaissance-era scientists who espoused both Christianity and the scientific method.

Yes, both Copernicus and Galileo were Catholic. Galileo remained ever faithful to his church, even after he was persecuted by The Holy Office and The Inquisition, and placed under house arrest for the remainder of his life, he was still faithful to the church that betrayed him.

Johannes Kepler and Isaac Newton were also Christians, but they were Lutherans. Isaac Newton once said that Catholic Church is "The Great Whore of Babylon" as depicted in the book of Revelations. Not only was Isaac Newton a great scientist, and a mathematician who invented Calculus, but he was also a Bible Scholar and he believe that the Bible contains a secrete code, and he was almost obsessed with trying to break the code.

So, Safety doesn't know what the fucking Hell he's talking about.

What's so important about Charles Darwin and Galileo? They were both wrong and are now burning in Hell.

Well, Galileo was right. We have pretty much proven beyond any doubt that the earth and all the planets revolve around the sun.

And DNA evidence proves evolution. We use DNA evidence in a court of law to determine paternity to prove whether of not someone is the father of a child, and DNA evidence collected from a crime scene and be used to determine the guilt or innocence of the accused in a court trial.

Anyway, speaking of DNA evidence for evolution . . . . .

Judgements of law are based on a preponderance of evidence, and genetic evidence is so reliable, it can get a life or death sentence even without need of other types of evidence to corroborate it. So the fingerprints of mutation in molecular phylogeny are not only profound evidence of evolution, they amount to legal proof of it.

So, if evolution were put on trial in a court of law, the DNA evidence that shows humans and apes have a common ancestry is so overwhelming, that it is every bit as reliable as DNA evidence to prove whether of not one is the parent of a child.

God gives me hope and helps me when I'm not feeling so well. He inspires me to be a better person.

I believe the reason why Republicans now hate science is because of the overwhelming evidence. Republicans, sports fans, and jocks, they all hate science, and they fear science.

That's why nerds and geeks get bullied around in our schools.

The jocks hate and fear science, because they hate and fear DNA testing. And they have a good reason to be afraid, because it would prove their guilt during a rape trial.

So, to all the Republicans, sports fans, and jocks who hate and fear science . . . . .

Be afraid! Be very afraid!
