Sports build character? Mhmm...
"Sports build character" I hear from atheletes and coaches alike. Despite the fact that football players can torture another student and get away with a scolding, coaches can get away with anything as long as the team wins, and two towns will hate each other just over a goddamn SPORT.
I can tell you right now, sports does NOT build character. I'd go as far as to say it does the exact opposite. Kudos to the brave casual players who don't let, say, football's icy grip take a hold of them and cause them to ram other players that he has to hate just because he's from another town/city.
Sports build character. If it did that, we wouldn't have people in pro sports complaining about their 6 digit salary. If sports built chracter, the nationol bully and asshole population would be at least half. If sports built character, then most people in this world would be nice people to be around.
It doesn't though, so why say that it does?
Oh, and I'm a "weak nerd pussy" for hating sports.

No, you may not have the antidote. Now stop calling me.

Agreed, I was in a couple of sports in high school and while our coach made us pledge to only use our "powers for good," I cannot recall anyone ever doing that.
Re: Sports build character? Mhmm...
I googled "Sports really build character" or something along that lines a couple times I find that there are educated people who believe the opposite that they don't or don't build character better than other things like getting a job. Not all of P.E. teachers are bad, my driver instructor was a P.E. teacher(strangely my other P.E. teachers were driving instructors as well) and he was one of the most lay-back people I ever meet. But after reading some of the posts in this site I learned that there really are some really sick sadists. And then I think forcing kids/teenagers to run a mile is kinda sadistic in a way.

I have a fat gym teacher.. but he doesn't really do anything [Irony
]. If someone does something against what he says, he just gives them a warning and lets them walk away. Certainly not the person to say "sports builds character", yes?

I had a fat one, but he was buff. And he was cool too. I remember once he told a kid who called somebody else gay, "How do you know? Don't be talking about someone else's sexual orientation." He also let me run laps and do push-ups instead of playing flag football and dodgeball (bet that choice is surprising eh? I really hate ball sports).

Yea. Right now we [8th grade] are lifting weights, so we don't have to play any ball games! Before we started lifting weights and we had nothing to do, the teachers gave us the options to play sports or walk. I always took to walking.
Though I have gained 5 lbs ever since we've been weight training - and it's certainly not muscle.

My "last post" clearly stated I would post from time to time, which is exactly what I have done.
Not too strong with reading comprehension I see.

That's a guess. You don't know. Though I should say now that I'm not fat - just overweight. If I was fat, I think I would have ran out of space for new clothes.

overweight=fat
either way, don't let yourself go too much. You try to take on a healthier lifestyle. Especially only being in 8th grade.

Yawn* I see you're logic is lacking as usual. I'll ask you again why title a thread "my last post" and then turn around and state you're coming back. That's like walking around wearing a shirt saying "I'm a proud atheist" then going back every Sunday so to please god so you won't go to hell. Try thinking more thoroughly when thinking about titles for threads. Sadly quick reflexes don't help here.Detroitsportsfan08 wrote:My "last post" clearly stated I would post from time to time, which is exactly what I have done.
