Funny, because athletes will be the first ones to tell you they're not heroes, and the first ones to thank the troops overseas.


If you watch any sporting events, they are very involved with the troops, and they're always talking about them.

After 9/11, the Jets, Giants, and Patriots all did a lot with the NYPD and the NY Fire Department.

You guys are arguing against something that no one even thinks. And when people call an athlete a hero, they mean in the context of that game, season, etc.

Of course they're going to say that crap when they're in front of a TV camera. How fast do you think they would shut one of these assletes up if he made statements like "screw the soldiers overseas"? You must believe everything on TV is the truth, or is it just the crap spewing from some assletes mouth?

If you want to pick apart other's peoples' posts, let's start with yours... shall we?

First of all, you didn't capitalize the 'F' in your first paragraph. The 'G' in German didn't need to be capitalized as it is referring to the language - NOT the proper name of the country. The phrase "high-and-mighty" should have been hyphenated.
In the second sentence, instead of "I also skimmed...", should have been "I too skimmed...".
Lastly, Mr. Knows-Proper-English, the use of 'your' in the post before yours was the correct use.

Wasn't talking about any specific post with yours reference.

First, my posts, for the most part, are not in paragraph form. I did mess up and not put a capital F, but saying I don't know when to capitalize is a stretch and you know it. Simply a typo.

Secondly, the language still should in fact be capitalized. I knew this, but after I double checked on google you will find that the "G" in German when referring to the language should in fact be capitalized. Look for yourself.

Third, high and mighty in no way has to be hyphenated. Don't know where you got that from.

Lastly, about skimmed, I don't know. You may be right. However, it's quite sad that I speak better english than most of you here when I'm about to graduate high school this year. That is given that you guys are at least two years removed from high school.

Your post was a good effort, and you almost made me look like an idiot. Not quite though.
