I didn't like sports just a week ago more like a month and a half ago and people change every day. And it's not that I totally hate sports I still watch them every now and again which for me is probably one game a month. But at least when I do watch them I don't get really really mad if when my team loses in fact I don't get mad at all about. I am an intelligent person that watches sports every now and then. I don't surround myself with them though. For example right now I am watching a game between LSU and Butler university and this will probably be the only game that I watch for a while. Also right after the game is over I turn the tv off I don't sit there and watch the post game show. Every now and then you can see an intelligent sports fan.

Speaking from personal experience, for a teenager who is bullied, bullying is always a huge part of high school, whether the bully or bullies are athletic kids or not. Not meaning to be sarcastic, when are the athletic kids not popular? Of course, some sports are not as popular as others. Even though he was an athlete in high school, the Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps was bullied because he wasn't in the right sport. At least that's what I remember reading.

In my school, there's plenty of athletic kids who aren't "popular"

not nerds, but not among the popular crowd either. This can be said for the star basketball player.

Since it's only ok and "smart" to watch sports once in a while, what would be better to watch on TV?

Things that are actually educational like news or the history channel. When I am not watching sports I am watching things that are more interesting like mythbusters, dirty jobs, ghost hunters, and some stuff on the history channel.I don't know if you would consider shows like mythbusters that educational but it is very interesting. Also I like to watch comedy central and mtv even though those aren't educational.

Oh! Christ on a crutch!!! What a fucking moron!!!

Like there is nothing else to watch on TV besides sports? That sports is the be all and the end all of entertainment on TV?

Hey, how about shows like UNIVERSE on the History Channel, all about the latest discoveries being made in Astronomy. How about seeing the latest most beautiful pictures taken by the Hubble telescope, and in a few more years, they're going to put an even bigger and better telescope out in space, and I can hardly wait to see the pictures set back to us from that one!

And I like to watch Extreme Trains. I have always been fascinated by trains. Trains are really cool! They are the most awesome machines. Nothing more Majestic than a train rumbling by at high speeds.

I just saw a program last night about the Pyramids of Egypt. There is so much more to see besides sports on TV.

Anything would be better to watch than sports!

Even watching paint dry is better than watching sports!

But my favorite programs is anything about Astronomy.

Astronomy is the most beautiful science there is.

But when I was in school, I was not allowed to study Astronomy! I got my head bashed against a brick wall, briefly saw some stars, and then forced into the dirty smelly locker rooms to look at a bunch of big ugly smelly gorillas in jerseys and helmets!

Well, a warning to all monkey-boys!

None of them had better not be coming around to my home, because if they do, then they had better be wearing their helmets, because I'll come after them with a lead pipe and start bashing in some heads!

In your last post that you addressed to me, you said that there are many athletic kids at your high school that aren't in the popular crowd. That's very interesting to me. I'm not inclined to believe what anybody tells me, but I have no reason to disbelieve you. I attended a high school where King Football was dominant; so it seemed to me that all the athletes were automatically elevated to the top of the social hierarchy at every other high school. But I realize now that all high schools are not the same. If I may be permitted to meander a bit, someone once said there are two types of Americans: those who loved high school and those who didn't. I happen to fall in the latter category. I didn't deserve the honor of being called a nerd, because my grades were not consistently high. What some people don't recognize about nerds is that many of them work hard to excel academically. In order to make straight A's, both of our daughters have frequently had to stay up late in order to do all their homework (without any pressure from me).

Sports are big at my school, but being on them doesn't make you popular.

Kind of has more to do with how you look.

That stuff's all great, don't get me wrong.

Sometimes you need to change it up a bit though.

Change it up a bit?

What pray tell do you mean?

Oh, I see now!!!

Yeah, I need to change it up a bit by taking a break from watching my favorite programs on Astronomy, and sit down to a football game once in a while.

And while I'm watching football, should I also be drooling from the corners of my mouth, wetting my pants, and going DUUUUUUHHHHHHH???

Like I said, nothing.

Even I need to take a break from watching sports sometimes.

I do watch the discovery channel, and especially the history channel from time to time.

I can remember when you were the one who was rude and obnoxious, and now, you're always more polite, and even have better manners than I'm displaying right now! :D :D :D

Now I'm the one who's being rude and obnoxious!

I'm sorry but this Polite24 is really getting my goat with his moronic comments!

He can't say one intelligent thing any more!

Now, he has both of his feet in his mouth!

And I'm the one that put them there!

But why don't you join in on the fun, and be rude to him as well? :D :D :D

I remember when you use to let loose on me, and the time you called ma a "Red Sea Pedestrian" I actually thought that one was funny, even when you were insulting me, I thought that one was funny, and I still think that one is funny! It was original! :D :D :D

So, I would love to see you let lose on this moron as I have been doing.

After all, I shouldn't be the only one here having fun! :D :D :D :D :D
