Non-ignorant athlete/sports fan here- please read

Post by SportsGuy92 »

I'd like to begin by saying I'm not going to be some of the other pro-sports people on this site and come on here questioning your manhood/sexuality/patriotism etc. and go on and on about how I am superior to all of you for whatever ignorant reason. I realize that we all have different hobbies and interests and for many people this does not include sports. However I do have issues with how a lot of the anti-sports people deny that nothing good can come from sports and believe that most, if not all athletes deserve to be placed on the same level as the murderers and rapists of society.

While I enjoy playing and watching sports, I do agree that it is often taken to far. As it says on the front page of this website "there is something wrong when people base their lives on the outcome of a game". One of the areas that I have the greatest problem with in sports is the greedy pro athletes who are paid ungodly sums of money for what they love to do. Don't get me wrong, as an athlete myself I will be the first to tell you that competitive sports are far from being fun all the time, but when you love your sport you should be grateful for being able to have a job that many dream of but few attain. Also, despite my interest in sports I don't believe in having physical education classes in schools. While it can be fun with a good teacher, one semester I also had the biggest asshole you could imagine for gym. You know the kind of teacher I'm talking about, every school has one, the guy who always has to enforce the minor rules that nobody else gives a shit about. In his class it seemed like the point wasn't to get exercise but memorize every goddamn rule of whatever sport as if that was as necessary for college as reading or math skills. My point is, gym classes take up time that is needed for more important subjects in school and it should be up to kids and their families to decide how and when if at all they want to exercise.

But what pisses me off about the people on this board is that they believe that there is some kind of link between enjoying sports and being unintelligent, arrogant, rude etc. I'm not going to lie and try to deny that there are athletes who do look down on those who aren't good at sports or just don't care (I'm not one of them). But for every jock out there who looks down on people who don't care about sports, there is the intellectual nerd who looks down on the less smart, the theater kid who looks down on people who don't appreciate musicals, the goths (and more recently emos) who bitch about how everyone else is a mindless conformist when they themselves are conforming to their own group, and so on. Why do you think cliques like these exist in high schools? It's has nothing to do with jocks bullying others, and everything to do with people choosing to associate with other people who they have things in common with. I read the article about the Columbine shootings on this website, and if everything in it was true, then yes, Columbine High School in the late 90's was a really fucked up place. But while jocks such as the "Rocky Wayne Hoffschneider" guy in the story may be assholes (by the way there are no jocks like him at my school), we can't forget that no one made the two shooters kill as many people as they did but their own fucked up selves. And even more ignorant are the people here who think that liking sports makes you dumber, as if every game watched means more brain cells killed or less IQ points. Yes every high school football team has its meatheads, but they also have plenty of members who are quite intelligent. Every sports or non-sports organization at a school is going to have its smart and dumb members. What you people are forgetting is that those people who we consider to be "smart", "average", and "dumb" in terms of intelligence come from all walks of life and has their own unique interests. Finally, quit whining about sports media coverage. We do not live in a fascist police state where you are forced to watch or read about sports against your will. Our economy is based on people choosing how to spend their time and money the way they want to. Don't like a restaurant showing sports on TV? Take your money and eat elsewhere. Just because some people enjoy 24/7/365 sports channels like ESPN doesn't mean you have to watch them.

Finally there are certain people on this website who I find to be really ignorant and annoying. "Fat Man", you say that "The only thing I want to hear coming out of an ex-jock monkey-boy's mouth is . . ."Will that be paper or plastic?" Then after that, he can just shut the fuck up!" This is just making a blanket statement about all athletes that they will all end up having jobs like bagging groceries for their whole lives. Yeah, we've all heard of the star high school athlete who put all their faith in their sports skills and never gave a fuck about their education, and ended up either getting a career-ending injury or becoming a bust in college or the pros. Well most high school athletes, or so called "monkey boy jocks", realize that their chances of going pro are slim to none and enjoy their sport for what it is, a chance to have fun, be part of a team, and represent their school and are ready to move on with their lives when their playing days are over. "Sergey", you think that people who sit on their ass playing this 'Starcraft' game deserve more money than pro athletes, well yeah we'll see about that when more people give a fuck about that game than sports. But the worst one of all is "Fitz301". There are a lot of hypocrites on this site who think all athletes are homophobic but discriminate against them and accuse them of being closet gays. But this guy is the worst. Several times you talk shit about how athletes/sports fans are all gays using terms like "homo" and "fag" etc. Do you really think your above any of the jocks you hate? More tolerant and open-mind? By the way, been on plenfyoffish.com lately?

Thank you for listening

Hello there SportsGuy92

Let me be the first to welcome you to our web site forum.

For someone who has been involved in sports, you sound like a reasonable and intelligent person.

But it as been my experience, that reasonable and intelligent people in sports are few and far between. Yes, they're there, but very few.

Please try to understand where I'm coming from.

When I was 4 years old, I was in a car accident and my left knee was injured. As a result, while growing up, I was unable to run like the other kids in school, and I walked with a limp, so I was lousy in PE class and sports.

The first time I was ever suspended from school was when I was in the 4th grade, because I failed to climb the rope in the gymnasium. Never mind that my left knee was crippled up, as far as the PE instructor was concerned, that was no excuse, and that I was being unco-operative so I got suspended from school. I tried to climb the rope, and I really wanted to be able to get at least part of the way up, but my knee was hurting too much. I lived with constant pain in my left knee for years. I'm 57 years old now, and the pain still comes and goes sometimes.

When I was in the 5th grade, I had this male teacher who was really Gung Ho when it came to sports. He always liked to humiliate me in the gymnasium in front of the other kids in my class. One day, we were playing basketball, and during the game I made some kind of mistake. I don't know what it was because I know nothing about basketball, and my teacher grabbed the ball from me and punched me in the stomach with it as hard as he could and I was doubled over in pain. I was actually afraid that I was going to black out. It seemed like forever before I could breath again.

There was another incident when our 5th grade class went to the school library. All the other students in my class were allowed to check out any book they wanted. I saw this book on Astronomy that I wanted. Science has always been my favorite subject, especially Astronomy, and my teacher would not allow me to check out the book I wanted. We got into an argument, and he dragged me out into the hallway, grabbed me by the shoulders, pushed me backward, bashing me my head up against the corner of a concrete block wall. I felt dizzy, almost like being drunk. The following year, that teacher was fired and could not get a teaching job anywhere else. Serves him right! He should have gone to prison for what he did to me. Anyway throughout my teenage years, I had dizzy spells and headaches which gradually subsided when I got much older i my 20s. I believe that any adult who abuses a child, and physically injures a child should get the death penalty, especially pedophiles.

My mother taught me how to read and write before I even started going to school, so by the time I was only in the 3rd and 4th grade I was already reading at the adult level, and when I was 13, I scored 150 points on a standard IQ test. I was raised in a poor family, but when I was a kid, I actually thought we were rich because we has a house full of books.

Throughout my school years, I was bullied around by the jocks and they were allowed to get away with it, but if I ever tried to defend myself, I was punished. So, I was suppose to allow the jock to use me as a human punching bag or a human tackling dummy, and I couldn't even say or do jack shit about it.

When I was in high school, I was harassed by a couple of dope dealing jock who were trying to get me to try some of the stuff they were selling. I wanted absolutely nothing to do with drugs, and I told these guys to just leave me alone, but they would not give up. Finally I want to see the school councilor and he suggest that I just turn them in. That turned out to be a stupid mistake, because after that, the harassment got even worse. In my art class, my oil painting were destroyed. My notebooks got stolen and some were torn up. I have to leave school after verbal threats were made against my life.

After leaving school I have an emotional and mental breakdown and spent three in a mental hospital. I was a really bad place. The ward attendants like to beat up on the patients, and one night I was raped by an older man.

When I came home I was severely depressed and in need of some kind of psychological counseling. I needed to talk about things, but nobody would listen. I was 17 years old at the time, and this was back in 1969. Back in the 1960s and 1970s nobody believed that a guy could get raped. But it can, and does happen.

My mind was so messed up that I was in no condition to hold a job or ever go back to school again, so my mother helped me to apply for disability.

Back in the mid 70s after I had passe some tests in math, history, geography, science, etc. etc. I did manage to get a GED Certificate, which back then was the equivalent of a high school diploma, then I had three years of collage at NMSU, New Mexico State University where I was taking course in physic and Astronomy. But I never completed my degree. I found myself in another stressful situation and so I couldn't finish my courses.

Now, it recent years, I have been seeing a psychologist, one who actually listens to me, and we have become very close friends. I have recently been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD.

Now, you know where I'm coming from, why I hate sports, and why I hate jocks.

In you post, you had said the following.
Finally there are certain people on this website who I find to be really ignorant and annoying.
Then you put me at the top of the list!!!

Well, fuck you for saying that!

While I agree with most of what you have said, you fail to understand the reasons I have for my anger. I have been beaten and I have been raped!

So, I have earned the right to say what I whatever bloody well pleases me to say!

Not only do I like to say it in words, but in pictures as well.

Yeah, there is way too much sports on TV. We already have enough sports channels, but now, sports is beginning to intrude into some of the other cable channels. One evening I wanted to watch The Outer Limits on The Science Fiction Channel, but is was pre-empted for a stupid wrestling match, and sports has begun to intrude into Spike TV, and I'm really pissed off because they removed Star Trek Voyager.

Anyway . . . . .

I hope you understand where I'm coming from!

Cliques exist everywhere, and you are, like every sports nut before you, missing the entire point. This isn't about cliques. The simple of fact of the matter is, sports and sporting events encourage a very unique behavior. I've never heard of any of those clique groups you mentioned... nerds, theater kids, goths, etc., ... bullying another group of kids. One of the points we try to make on this website is that the type of competitiveness that popular sports breeds encourages a very unique form of behaviour among jocks. I am not against physical education, and I don't think anyone here is, IF it's education that encourages fitness and promotes good health.

Truthfully, I don't care how many intelligent athletes exist. Most professional popular sports have enough bonafied assholes in them to antagonize people who aren't into sports into being anti-sports. I have been saying this often in the last few weeks, but for your benefit, I will say it again. People make sports suck. Especially popular sports. No one here was born with a vehement hatred of sports, I doubt many here were taught by their parents to hate sports, everyone here that doesn't like sports was probably driven to that mindset by some lunatic extremist zealot who treats sports like a religion. And those are the people I rail against.

If you aren't harming anyone with your favorite hobby, then more power to you. But when you're proselytizing it to others that have no interest in it incessantly, rallying to build stadiums and tossing your hobby constantly into the daily lives of others at school, work, etc., and if your peers who also enjoy it do it enough, yes, the counter effect to that is that a group of people who previously didn't care for sports are now going to hate it, and even speak out against it.

Yes, we chose to hate sports, but you really should take a look at the idiots who champion it. You yourself may not be one of those idiots, but it doesn't matter that you're not. That is the part that you need to understand in order to understand why we take the position we take against sports. What matters is that thousands of others that were part of that sports 'clique' in high school are still doing it well into adulthood.

Hmmmm. So far you are nothing but a one post wonder. You claim to get the point of the website, but your barging into the forums and degrading the two easiest targets tells me that you're not really capable of wanting to try to understand where they're coming from. All you see is the 'bad attitude', so you automatically assume they're hating something just for the sake of it.

You need to realize that everyone here doesn't like sports because they've had at some point in their lives, one or multiple experiences with people involved in sports that were so negative that it made them hate it altogether.

It isn't about hating sports. It is about calling out sports fans and athletes who proudly treat it like a religion, but who also discriminate against you because you don't care for popular sports. That is the truth to the entire matter. It is a form of human ugliness that makes us, those that speak out against sports, the way we are. A lot of us are appalled at the fact that anyone who loves sports thinks that we are 'abnormal' in some way because we don't like them. And honestly, who wouldn't be?

I am very in shape and could have easily been an athlete, but I chose not to be. Yet people assume I'm into football or some other inane sporting activity because I like to keep physically fit.

As long as sports are popular, attitudes will likely never change. As I said, people make sports suck, from the athlete to the drunk fan to the greedy corporations that promote it.

Yes, as I have said before, there are Cliques who act snobby and they like to put people down. They can be a real pain in the ass.

But I have never heard of any of them snobbish Cliques throwing students down flights of stairs or through plate glass windows.

Yes, there are some nerds and geeks who put people down who are less intelligent, but nerd and geeks don't go around throwing jocks down flights of stairs or through plate glass windows.

I like to play Chess, and in school I was obsessed with the game. But I didn't go around beating up on people who didn't like Chess.

For some reason, Chess tournaments don't inspire violence like football.

The reason why football inspires violence is because they are morons and sore losers.

Chess appeals to intellectuals, and intellectuals don't get all pissed off and violent if they happen to lose against an opponent in a Chess match.

Ah, but sports fans, if their favorite team loses the big game of the season, or any game, they hit the streets and riot, breaking shop windows, setting fires, and overturning cars.

Most people in sports, both the fans and the athletes are mostly made up of morons, and anything that appeals to morons is going to inspire violence.

Tiddly Winks is a game that would appeal to morons. Thank God it does not have a broad appeal as football does. But because our declining quality of education, which by the way is caused by sports, then in the future, people are going to become even more moronic than they are now, too fucking stupid to even understand football, they will find Tiddly Winks to be more appealing.

I fear a dark and dismal future where they will be showing Tiddly Winks tournaments on TV and the morons will be taking to the streets to riot if someone losses.

And since Tiddly Winks fans will be even more moronic, they will also be even more violent and the riots in the streets will be even worse. Instead of just burning a few cars in the streets, they will burn down entire cities.

I predict, this planet will be destroyed by the Tiddly Winkers!

Welcome to the forum, SportsGuy92. You sound like a really decent guy. You're obviously open-minded and tolerant, which I deeply appreciate. Your posts would be a welcome contribution to this website.

I almost don't know where to begin, because I have a lot to say. If I spend too much time composing a single post, the forum locks me out. And I'm not able to compose away from the website because the computer won't allow me to copy and paste the way that I've done it before. So, I'm going to have to submit more than one post; and I won't have the time to do my best writing.

First of all, let me say that despite your initial impression of us, we really are a diverse group and don't all think alike. Some of us are atheists or agnostics, while another one of us is converting to Judaism and another is a Bible-believing Christian. Some of us are young women. And some of us did not deserve the honor of being called nerds when we were in high school because not all our grades were high.

I understand your feelings about this website. Some of the comments are over the top, but some of them are just hype. I disagree with statements of hatred, which have been made on both sides. Unlike you, most of the critics of this website have been downright hateful. Here in the forum check out the posts submitted by Captain America, SpeedofLeight (who posted a particularly vile pornographic link in his signature, in clear violation of the registration agreement), and Samdaman's numerous posts. Their views are nothing less than the expression of a form of bigotry. Check out the hateful comments by most of the critics in the letters; for example, Harold in "Letters 2009."

On the other hand, I certainly can see how decent athletic guys would be offended by or even get their feelings hurt by this website. I don't think I'm being "fem" by making this statement. I'm simply recognizing that most of us guys have feelings, even those who appear to be tough. Nearly two years ago I started working with a personal trainer on a bodybuilding program at a local health club. Actually, I've worked with three trainers; and all of them have turned out to be really nice guys. My first trainer, for example, was trained in a number of different sports; but he did not look down on me for being a nonathlete. To the contrary, he started bragging about me to the other trainers. He is appalled by those athletes who denigrate nonathletic boys and men, and he calls them meatheads. But he is also sensitive about how some have apparently viewed him for being an athlete. Once when I was talking to him, I used the word "jocks" in a comment that I made; and he asked me politely to not use that word. His reaction was not characterized by arrogance. I could sense an emotional pain in the tone of his voice. I now wished that I had talked to him about it. His reaction reminded me of member of a minority group hearing an epithet used by a bigot.

It wasn't until February of this year that I posted a message at any website. I've noticed that board messaging is often characterized by anger, regardless of the topic. It's easy to respond with anger towards someone with whom you disagree. Now, I'm not saying that you have done this. I'm saying that I've done it. I'm willing to have a dialogue with any critic of this website. More to say in another post.

Taking up where I left off in my previous post, I even wish that I had responded differently to Harold in the "Letters 2009" column, despite the fact that his letter was filled with hate. Instead of scolding him as I did (which was perfectly understandable), I now wish that I had offered him the opportunity to actually have a dialogue, as long as he was willing to be civil. I admit that tit for tats can be entertaining when one or both parties has wit, but hateful exchanges can be wearisome. When the name-calling starts, the possibilities of communicating are severely restricted.

I will say this in the website's favor. You are welcome (indeed, you're encouraged) to submit as many posts as you desire for as long as you like. You will not be banned for disagreeing with or criticizing us. I will acknowledge that our record has not been perfect. Polite24 once was banned under a different username, but he was able to return to the forum. One of the Admins (Skul) even said that the other members should have been respectful when he started posting as DetroitSportsFan08. So, again, we are not all of the same mind. Samdaman was banned because he was harrassing these people with the intent of possibly sabotaging this forum. Consider this: If any of us started posting comments at a sports website, how long do you think it would be before we were banned? I think that would happen rather quickly.

Don't mean to sound dopey, but all of us should be willing to listen to other people whose experiences have differed from our own. The points of view that each one of us have are seen through the prism of our own experiences. Unfortunately, most people like to say, "Hooray for our side!" and refuse to recognize the validity of other people's experiences.

Just to let you know where I'm coming from and where I stand: I'm a 59-year-old family man who is retired. I'm the father of two young women, both of whom have excelled academically. The older just graduated from a university magna cum laude (football fan, by the way). The younger just graduated from high school summa cum laude. Just bragging about them, not me. Actually, they put me to shame. In high school academically I was above average, but did not excel.

I do not consider myself to be a "sports hater." I'm a critic of certain aspects of the culture associated with certain sports (as, indeed, are a number of former athletes, such as Joe Ehrmann, whom I feature in my most recent post). I admire genuinely kindhearted "jocks" (if I may use the word) who do not look down on nonathletic boys and men and are not condescending towards them. Several of my friends played football in high school. One of the deacons of my congregation, who played football in high school, is one of the most warm-hearted guys I've ever met; and he wears his heart on his sleeve. I must point out, though, that he did not become this way by playing football, as many football fans and just about every sports columnist in this country would claim. His character developed because he patterned his life after the moral teachings of the Bible. Quite refreshingly, he doesn't talk incessantly about having played football in high school. One of my political heroes was Bob Gammage, a former Texas legislator and member of the State Supreme Court who has now retired from politics. He was a leading liberal Democratic in the state. Considering the fact that this state is conservative, he actually was principled and gutsy. He played football in college, and I once made a monetary contribution to his campaign when he ran for Congress in the fall of 1976. (Sadly, he was defeated for re-election in '78.)

On the other hand, the problem is that most of the football players at my high school were arrogant; and some were bullies. Seems to me that at many high schools those individual players who chose to mistreat others are not held accountable for their misconduct off the playing field. For example, a friend of mine who graduated from high school the same year I did in the same district, recently told me that one day he was using his locker in the hall way when one of the football players, an upperclassman who didn't even know him, walked over to him and deliberately slammed the door of his locker on his right hand out of pure maliciousness. For the record, my friend was not a nerd (as if that were a crime) but was considered to be cool. The nurse who examined his hand said that he was lucky that none of the bones in his hand were broken. My friend's hand had to be kept in a cast for two weeks. He was able to identify the player, but the player was never disciplined. Indeed, as my friend told me, a number of the football players bullied physically weaker guys; and neither the principal nor any of the coaches seemed to care. There is another aspect to this that I find to be particularly galling. One of the players, a former junior-high classmate of mine whom I had actually admired, not only had bullied physically weaker guys, but even tormented a mentally retarded student. Did his popularity suffer from this totally shameful conduct? Not a bit! He was just as popular as he had ever been because the rules did not apply to him.

Finally, I'd like to reply to specific comments that you made in your post. Again, I deeply appreciate your very positive attitude and hope that you will continue to post here.
SportsGuy92 wrote:Also, despite my interest in sports I don't believe in having physical education classes in schools.
Your comment reflects a humane disposition, which I deeply appreciate. Historically, in this country sports-centered P.E. classes have been the bane of existence for nonathletic boys, especially those who are physically weak and those who are overweight. In many instances P.E. has been nothing less than institutionalized bullying to these kids. These boys are not encouraged to become physically fit, but are discouraged and are taught to fear coaches and athlete classmates. Promoting sports is not the same as promoting physical fitness. I'm not unreasonable. I strongly support the movement to reform P.E.

There is an observation I'd like to make, and I don't mean to sound whiny. I'm concerned about what some boys have to deal with. One reason some of us are not sports fans is because sports are often used as the only standard of masculinity often at the expense of boys who are not athletically inclined. Think about this: A nonathletic boy is trying to meet the challenges that are part of growing up. The popular culture continually bombards him with the message "If you aren't good at sports, you're a wimp. If you have no interest in sports, then you must have homosexual tendencies. You're not masculine; you're feminine. You're a sissy and a coward. You're inferior. No girl would ever want to have you. No matter what you accomplish or what your own strengths are, you don't count." Imagine an insecure nonathletic boy who hears this message week after week, month after month, year after year. Especially consider how he might feel when he receives no moral support from anyone. I can see how he might become prejudiced. I know what I'm talking about because this was my own experience. Again, I don't agree with the hateful statements that come from my side.

I could say even more; but I've already run on and on, as I've done before. I'll make more comments later. You seem to be a man of good will, and I hope that we will continue to hear from you.

Ah, just one more thing. Rather minor, actually.

I checked out this website, which is an online dating service. I must be dense, but I just don't get the point you were making regarding this dating website. Could you please explain and tell us what you meant. I'm confused.

That dating thing confused me, as well.

Anyway, it's true that there are people on here who are extremely aggressive when it comes to sports, but most of them have their reasons. All of us here know why Fat Man has such pure hatred for them, but there are some people who give a lot of hate without any backstory.

The fact of the matter is, this website, despite its name, is not completely against all sports, although it probably was in its very beginnings -- I wasn't there when it began. After a while, we realised that it's certain attitudes of certain sports that we hate. Besides, the name CertainAttitudesOfCertainSportsSuck.org isn't very catchy and a pain in the ass to type. You may notice that it's mostly team sports that are discussed. This is because they seem to cause the most problems.

There are sports I play, but they're not the more popular ones. It's mostly Snooker or Pool. I enjoy them, even though I kind of suck at them. :)

Now I have tried to get into the more popular sports, seeing as I'm a red-blooded male, but they've never interested me. I tried watching a football (soccer) match, but I failed to see what I was supposed to get excited about. To me, it was just a bunch of guys kicking a ball about, no different from a group of boys doing the same thing in the street or the park. I even tried out rugby (a tamer version of American football), but again, it didn't interest me, so I quit after a few weeks. I really wanted to like something to make me 'normal', but it wasn't for me. I have to say, though, the coach was a really nice guy. He's the only part of that experience I liked. Apart from that, all I remember is I was cold, hardly invovled in the game (practically never got the ball passed to me) and bored.

I'm more into video games than anything else and the only sport-type games I like are racing games. Probably because I'm actually driving the cars instead of watching them being driven. I'm a Sonic the Hedgehog fan, too, so it's probably also the speed (as well as the cool-looking cars) that attracts me.

AW FUCK IT!!!

I still get pissed off when ever I think about what SportsGuy92 said . . .
Finally there are certain people on this website who I find to be really ignorant and annoying. "Fat Man", you say that "The only thing I want to hear . . . etc. etc.
And he puts me on the top of his list!

I'm not forgetting that! :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

True, SportsGuy92 may be more polite than I am. Then there is Polite24 who is also very polite, but he's a brain-dead moron!

I admit, I'm not at all polite, especially when it comes to addressing these sports bores here on this forum.

Right now I'm engaged in a battle here in The Scum City of El Paso Texasshole!

I'm disabled, I have arthritis in both knees and ankles, and I walk with a cane. I don't have my own transportation so I use a city bus to get around, and after walking around to do my grocery shopping, it would be nice to sit on a bench while waiting for a bus.

But the Don Haskins SPORTS CENTER/Nazi Headquarters requested that Scum Metro remove the benches from the bus stop in front of the Don Haskins SPORTS CENTER/Nazi Headquarters.

It's across the street from a Walgreens pharmacy where I go to pick up my prescriptions and there is an Albertsons near by where I do my grocery shopping.

So, I'm presently engaged in a battle with my fair city to have the benches re-installed. I have been making phone calls and fighting like Hell.

In the meantime, I suggest that SportsGuy92 read my post titled . . .

EL PASO UNDER SPORTS DICTATORSHIP! I DARE CALL IT TREASON!

Just go to: http://www.sportssuck.org/phpbb2/viewto ... f=1&t=1280

Anyway . . . . .

When I called the Don Haskins SPORTS CENTER/Nazi Headquarters, I got their bubble-headed bimbo of a secretary with the IQ of a steam iron, and she said that the benches were removed because it didn't look good having the benches there.

So, I said "Let me see if I got this right. It doesn't look good to have elderly people and disabled people sitting on benches in front of your precious SPORTS CENTER??? Well, you look even worse now! Before it only looked like just a SPORTS CENTER, but now, with the benches removed, you look more like Nazi Headquarters, the only thing missing is the pretty red flags with the swastikas on them!" I was really pissed!!!

When I was a kid going to school, I was bullied around by the jocks and the coaches.

Now I'm 57 years old, and I'll turn 58 on September 30, so I'll only be a couple of years away from being a Senior Citizen, and I'm still getting kicked around by the jocks!

So, I don't have to be polite. Because, I'm a big fat bitch!!! OK???

People have to earn my respect! You do that by studying hard in school academics, and being well educated.

Right now, I could care less if a million jocks ended up here!

Image

Because this . . . . .

Image

. . . . . is far more valuable to me than the lives of millions of monkey-boy jocks and sports fans all put together!!!

That's right! A bus stop bench so I can sit on my big fat ass while waiting for a bus instead of having to stand up like a jack-ass in the hot summer sun in this donkey-fucking redneck scum-bag piece of dog shit two bit butt-banging town!!!

Yeah! A bus stop bench!!!

I'm sorry, but the only way jocks and sports fans can ever earn my respect is to apologize to me for all the pain they have caused me over the years.

AND they also need to . . . . .

KISS MY BIG FAT ASS!!!

All I want to hear from an ex-jock is "Will that be paper or plastic?" After that he can shut the fuck up!

Say what you want, but just remember that SportsGuy92 is not responsible for the shameful action taken by the thoughtless people who run the Don Haskins Sports Center in El Paso. He probably has never even heard of this. And SportsGuy92 is not one of the jocks who made your life miserable.

That's all true, and I have even acknowledged that he is more polite than I am and that for a sports fan and athlete is sounds more intelligent than most of them.

But I'm still pissed off when he said the following . . . . .

He doesn't know who the fuck I am and what I have been through.

And if he doesn't come back to post a response to what I have said here, then I will know he's a coward who's afraid to face me.

I don't expect him to agree with EVERYTHING I have said, but to at least acknowledge me, instead of calling me "ignorant and annoying" and then not coming back to explain himself.

I have even agreed with most of what he said, NOT ALL of what he said, but most of it.

So, I just hope he's not one of those, hit once, post and run, types. I don't give a flying fuck how how polite he is.

I just want him to know where I'm coming from.

I understand, Fat Man. I agree with you that he should listen to you so he will understand why you feel the way you do. Just remember that when I disagree with you, I'm still your friend.

SportsGuy92 wrote:I'd like to begin by saying I'm not going to be some of the other pro-sports people on this site and come on here questioning your manhood/sexuality/patriotism etc. and go on and on about how I am superior to all of you for whatever ignorant reason.

Hey shit for brains isn't sports a game? YES IT IS! Dumb asses like you are considered "civilized" yet you're an idiot. Drop dead you idiot. Oh and did I mention 90% of South Korean gamers WORSHIP Starcraft? There is even a channel for Starcraft game play and nothing else, you can see why it dominates sports in South Korea... so shut the hell up you dumb fuck. Oh and don't even pretend to be civilized because you sir are a troll, and I'm the Trolling One thus I know you are trolling... so stop trolling, we know you want attention, and I am giving it only to yell at you and expose you!

Edit: Oh and did I mention 90% of South Korean gamers WORSHIP Starcraft? More like 99% AHAHAHAHA! I am so paranoid about peoples special lines!

Post by SportsGuy92 »

I meant to post this earlier, but for some reason I wasnâ??t able to because it automatically signed me out.

Fat Man:

You are obviously angry at me for calling you out the way I did. As a new member, it was out of line for me to talk shit about you without knowing your situation, and I apologize for doing that. You sure have had to deal with a lot of asshole jocks in your life. You have every right to be angry about the past, but you aim your anger at all people who are involved in sports. You donâ??t realize that your former tormentors were assholes who happened to be jocks, not assholes because they were jocks. Suppose that as I was growing up, my house was broken into, my sister was raped, and I was robbed at gunpoint. In all three cases, the criminal happened to be black man. Does this mean I should join a neo-nazi website or a skinhead gang? You showed a picture of NFL logos that said â??rape gang logosâ?. As someone who does not follow sports, you are in no position to accuse all NFL players of being rapists. Sure, there are rapists in the NFL, and in the other major sports leagues, but their cases will always receive the greatest publicity because of their fame, and I would be willing to bet that men who are highly involved in sports as a player or a fan are just as likely to commit rape as men who arenâ??t.

Millhouse: (Fat Man should read this too)

You say that youâ??ve â??never heard ofâ?¦ nerds, theater kids, goths, etc., ... bullying another group of kids.â? But the reason why jocks often become bullies is not because they like sports, but because the activity of their choice is validated and respected to a degree above all others. If more people decided to stop following high school sports and suddenly became more interested in high school plays, with that drawing the most fans and becoming schoolsâ?? biggest moneymaker among extracurriculars, than you would most likely see the star actors become cocky assholes like some of the football players once were. You say that Iâ??m not really capable of wondering where anti-sports people are coming from, but you are wrong. My own mother is one person who could care less about sports, and likely would never have watched a game in the 20 years sheâ??s been married if it wasnâ??t for me, my father, and my sister being interested in sports.

Earl:

Thank you for appreciating my tolerance and open-mindedness. I appreciate that you are able to see the good in those who enjoy sports, like your former personal trainer. Like him, I find the term â??jockâ? to be offensive. Not to put on the same level as the â??n wordâ? or anything like that, but hate being labeled as a jock just because I play sports. To me, that term implies that sports are the end-all, be-all of my existence and denies that I have other dimensions to my personality. Iâ??ve been lucky enough to play for coaches who were always coaching to win, and understood his players were playing to win, but were able to keep it all in perspective. Finally, about the comment I made about Fitz301 and plentyoffish.com, I can see why you didnâ??t understand it. I discovered it while looking for posts of his. Do a google search for Fitz301 and you will see what I mean. It should be the 4th result.
