it is kind of hard, isn't it? it feels sort of unnatural to fit words into three short lines.

Yea, it's especially hard for me knowing that I truely suck at creative writing.

I"m horrible at poetry and my English teacher who did the curriculum back then disliked it too. I think you're just thinking too hard, I mean you're drawings were great. In the end you write something simple but because it's so short it can be looked at different perspectives(people) to have a more deeper meaning than you intended. I think a good writer isn't necessary a good poet(but I'm neither of those). Here's another one:

The fans roared loudly
The team lost quite shamelessly
And I"m still laughing!

Ok someone else try now!
