One of my favorite TV programs on Spike TV is MANSWERS which gets rather explicate most of the time, but it gives truthful answers to many questions.

In the past I have stereo-typed rednecks or uneducated people as having sex with barnyard animals.

Well, it turns out to be true!

About 40% percent of rural teenagers have had sex with animals! That's right, 40% percent!

So, the stereo-type of rednecks having sex with barnyard animals turns out to be accurate after all.

I always thought that it was just a big joke, but no, it's not a joke. It's true!

That is disgusting!

Therefore all the other stereo-types of jocks and sports fans must also be true.

I would say, that at least half, or perhaps more than half, of all sports fans are rude obnoxious bores who beat up on their wives and kids when their favorite team loses the big game of the season.

Also, more then half of all professional football players are rapists!

About 20% percent, that is one fifth of all Americans believe that the sun revolves around the earth.

I would say that about half of the human race does not deserve to live, and that the mindless herd needs thinning out.

I mean, really!!! When we have at least 40% percent of rural teens having sex with animals!

MANSWERS is not exactly a promoter of high moral standards; so, I question their objectivity. I'd like to see statistical proof of this outrageous claim. I cannot believe that beastiality is this widespread. If this sexual perversion is as widespread as they claim, then we as a nation are doomed.

I cannot believe that "at least half" of sports fans beat up on their wives and children when their teams lose. I'm not saying there aren't any who do. I also don't believe that "more than half" of professional football players are rapists. I do believe, though, that there are a few who have committed rape. For all I know, reliable statistics may be hard to come by, since rapes frequently are not even reported.

The Kinsey reports controversially rated the percentage of people who had sexual interaction with animals at some point in their lives as 8% for men and 3.6% for women, and claimed it was 40â??50 percent in people living near farms, but some later writers dispute the figures, because the study lacked a random sample, and because the prison population was included, causing sampling bias. But values do get passed down from parents to their children.

Here in El Paso, we once had a recreational park where people could go swimming, boating, and fishing, but the park has been closed down because some morons got drunk, and went out in a boat and drowned, so they closed the park.

This is wrong. We are losing our freedom in order to protect morons. This is not natural.

We need to keep our basic rights and our freedom and just simply let the morons die through their own stupidity. Another words, let nature thin down the herd, and then, with fewer morons getting in the way, it will make it easier for us to live our own lives. Fewer morons mean fewer bullies in our schools, and fewer moronic parents who fail to teach their children any moral values.

That would be better than trying to kill them off. Just give us back our freedom and stop protecting morons by taking away our freedom, and let nature thin down the herd of morons.

The way I see it, every stereotype has to have a grain of truth in it somewhere. Not saying that all people in a certain group conform to it but there have to be a select number who are responsible for it coming about. And we know that some sports fans can be very rowdy, hateful and intolerant indeed. (Do I really have to name you a famous example on our own boards again?)
Sports-related crimes are common and well-documented. Take the Heysel tragedy in 1985 and the Hillsborough disaster four years later. Things like this have led to people stereotyping the British soccer fans as disorderly and thuggish and I know this has a grain of truth in it. People aren't just saying it for the sole purpose of demeaning the group without any solid reason, they actually know that the stereotype is partly true. I won't say anything that could be taken as racist. Soccer fans aren't really a race in my book. They're just a group, and not a very cultured or caring one. But for a stereotype to come about, there has to be something that starts it.
Not all the stereotypes are completely true, but they must have come about for a reason. A significant number of people from said group must all have partaken in a certain activity of any sort to be stereotyped for it. It's not always something bad - for example, the British are stereotyped as always drinking tea. Which they do a lot, and I do.
So stereotypes have to be true to some extent. They can't just be all wrong. Otherwise how would they even exist?
