What were you doing during the Superbowl?
What were you doing during the Superbowl?
Title is pretty self-explanatory. Did you even know it was today? I can't forgot it was today except I remembered for a moment during the afternoon than I forgot again, until I read a post lol. As for me I got a long-over due hair-cut, read some fanfiction, and watch some video game vids with my brothers.
"We believe in Vader, the Darth almighty, destroyer of Alderaan and the Sith. We believe in Luke, his only son, our Jedi. He was concieved by the power of the Force, and born of the senator Padme. Suffered under Darth Sidius, electrocuted, survived and partied with Ewoks. He descended to the Death Star, on the third hour he flew out in an Imperial ship and landed on Endor. He is seated on the right hand of Obi-Wan's ghost. He will come again to train Leia to be a Jedi. We believe? in Yoda.........

Re: What were you doing during the Superbowl?
Same as always. And I talked to rotten (another member of the forum) long-distance.
He told me that he had just bought another video arcade game.
And then after buying my wife something to eat so she wouldn't have to cook (I don't know how to cook yet), I picked up my own dinner at a bar/restaurant where customers were watching the game on TV. Well, to tell you the truth, the game may have ended already; but I didn't know one way or the other.
This is silly. What I've just written, that is. Why would anyone want to read this stuff?

it's not silly at all, I like to read it! How about this, I changed the oil in my car while laying in the snow because I can't get it to my garage, and guess what... I enjoyed that more than watching the stupid Super Bowl!

Hey, it's better than hearing, "I WATCHED DA BIG GAME & WE WON WOOT WOOT GO DAWGZ GO I BET U FAGZ PLAYED WIT URSELFS DA HWOLE TIME."
I did watch part of the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. Plus I read some of my book, took a brief walk, and watched MST3K on Youtube.

Re: What were you doing during the Superbowl?
I live in Wisconsin, so I could not escape it. My dad and brother are huge packers fans and as I result I got sucked into coming over for the game. My girlfriend went with me, but she watched DVD's on her laptop for most of the game. I ate my mom's home-made chilli and spent some time on the web checking up on my band's various internet accounts. Now they won and I can't sleep because I know I'll be tormented all day tomorrow by the water cooler talk at work. I got so tired of random people all this week leading up to the game assuming I cared about the game and saying things to me like "Go Pack!" Now I have to deal with another week of "Great game, hey?" I might snap. I hope these douchebags stay away from me. I am tired of the abhorrent looks I get when I let them know that I don't follow football or any other sports.

During the previous week, while riding the city buses some people would ask me if I was going to watch the Stupor Bore game (as I'm want to call it) and I would respond by saying that I think all football players should be ground up, and made into lunch meat to feed the homeless.
I got that from an episode of the comics, Bloom County, a political cartoon in the Newspapers (now defunct) when someone said the same thing about Yuppies. That was back in the 1980s.
So, I changed it to football players instead.
Then I would add . . .
. . . end of story!

All I want to hear from an ex-jock is "Will that be paper or plastic?" After that he can shut the fuck up!

And I thought Plan Nine from Outer Space (not to mention Night of the Lepus) was the worst movie ever made. That was before I watched the MST3K presentation of Manos: The Hands of Fate, which is the worst movie ever made. Well, Monster A Go-Go is pretty bad. And let us not forget the unforgettable cinematic masterpiece The Creeping Terror! (Just in case you haven't already noticed, the second line of my signature is a YouTube video clip of that show.) Have you seen Earth vs. The Spider and Hercules Against The Moon Men? I could go on and on. Now we have something else to talk about instead of ... you know.

I love MST3K, too! Man, I had a couple of DVDs with about 11GB in total of movies on them! I don't know where I put them...

I'm guessing you had a DVD recorder. (I've yet to use one myself.) Of course, there are commercially produced DVD recordings of MST3K shows, including boxed sets. I assume you already know that. Wait a minute. I'm only familiar with the U.S. market, not the British. In the meantime, I hope you find your own DVDs.Skul wrote:I love MST3K, too! Mrs. Earl says you're a man of taste: MST3K ... Sonic the Hedgehog ...

Re: What were you doing during the Superbowl?
Well, last night (I don't know exactly what time or in what time zone the Super Bowl happened - if it was evening over in America, it would be very early morning over here in Britain) I was watching a show on TV about... Ronald Reagan. Yes, I know there will be several people on here who won't like me for saying that but he was president when I was born - a symbol of the 1980s. On BBC Four there was a 100 minute show last night covering his entire life - not only was yesterday the Super Bowl, it would also have been Reagan's 100th birthday. I tuned into that, and found it all rather interesting. It's amazing how some people manage to do so much in their lives. Well, it was far more interesting than any sports game I've ever seen. There wasn't much fuss at all over the Super Bowl over here. I've not heard anything about it in the papers over here. But the football (soccer) season is still very much ongoing.

DrMenJele: Yeah baby, come pleasure me right....oh oh OH OH!!! GO GO GO GO TOUCHDOWN!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Anyway, I believe Indurrago wanted to know what we were REALLY doing during the Super Bore, not what we wished we were doing.
