OK, I'm trying to register over there.

But I must answer a random question.

Random Question
What game is this site designed for?

I don't know the answer!

I tried almost every game I could think of.

HELP!!!

I don't know the answer, Fat Man. Sorry. :(

As for the fans, they have themselves to thank for all this. It's no skin off my nose.

Well, the only kind of games that I can think of, that a web site might be designed for, is either computer games, video games, or simulations.

But which one?

There are millions of names to choose from!

I have learned a lot about computers since 1998 since I had my very first computer.

I know how to take a computer apart and put it back together again. I know how to install a new motherboard, new video cards, new audio cards, Ethernet modems, extra RAM, new hard drives, and how to install the operating system, like Windows 7 or preferably Windows XP, and I know how to download and install software and how to burn copies on CDR and DVD disks.

Hell, I can even write programs in DOS (Disk Operating System) but now, DOS is not used anymore since Windows XP came out. When I had Windows 3.0 or Windows 95, or Windows 98, I could access DOS and write my own programs, but I haven't seen DOS anymore since Windows XP.

Windows 3.0 used FAT16 which means File Allocation Tables, and Windows 95 and Windows 98 used FAT32, while Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 uses NTFS, New Technology File System, which is much better than FAT16 or FAT32.

But I can't, for the life of me, answer the random question, as to what game the web site is designed for.

Perhaps if I were 30 or 40 years younger, I could figure it out!

Hey! I know!

How about HEAD GAMES!!!

Because, they sure as fuck, are playing head games with me!

It looks like the game is called EQ2Flames. Did you try that? I think it's an anti-spambot security measure. Since I'm pretty sure the site isn't designed for a game called free online porn videos hot xxxxxx and cats, bots won't get in.

OK! I'm in!!!

I tried simply EQ2 and I got in.

It's mostly a gaming site for strategy games, like War Craft and many other such games.

Too bad Sergey has not been with us anymore. He would probably love that forum.

I registered mainly so I can post in their topic titled Fuck The NFL.

Later on I might check out some of their games.

Anyway, I'm in!

Hahaha, I was reading the posts on that thread and noticed one of the users decrying the excessive wages of sports players even though he had a huge Bayern Munich banner as his signature. They're paid too much... but that doesn't stop you from gladly encouraging it, does it? Or maybe this is one of the sensible sports fans who enjoys watching the games but realises that the players do not deserve to make anywhere near as much money as they do. Well, I've not heard a single convincing argument regarding why a man should be paid millions of pounds a year for kicking a ball round once or twice a week. I hope society will grow up eventually and learn to put things in perspective better...

Well, I do know a fair amount of athletes/sports fans who acknowledge the fact that professional sports players are overpaid. A few days ago in my careers class, we had to fill out information about certain fields (how interested we are in that field, if we have any skills in that field, etc.), and my friend asked me what I wrote down for the sports section on the sheet. I just said "I wrote that athletes are overpaid, that's it". This started a big discussion about how athletes are overpaid with the people I was sitting with, although despite the fact that several of those people were athletes or sports fans, nobody challenged this statement, everyone agreed. Although I don't think my opinion would have been as accepted as it had been if I hadn't have been sitting with an intelligent group of people; I probably would have been called a faggot for my views if certain other students had been around.

Well, I have been posting over at Fuck The NFL.

My first post is on page 12 and my second and third posts are on page 13 of the topic.

Please do check them out.

I hope some you you here will join me over there.

Of course, in the meantime, I shall continue posting here as usual.

But now, I have two different forums to post my opinions.

I also go by the user name Fat Man at that web site forum as I do here.

Anyway . . .

Here is my first post over there.
Good morning everybody:

I'm a new member here. Someone from another web site forum at Sports Sucks (where I also happen to be a member) posted a link to this topic.

I'm a member over at . . .

http://www.sportssuck.org/phpbb2/index.php

If you happen to be anti-sports, you might want to check it out.

Anyway . . .

From the earliest posts in this topic, I understand that the starting salary for NFL players is about $350,000 per year before they go on to be millionaires. Is that right?

That really sucks!

A physics professor or an astronomy professor in a university only gets about $100,000 per year.

Like, what's wrong with this picture?

I believe that sports in our schools is responsible for the declining quality of education here in the USA.

I should know.

I'm 59 years old now.

Back in 1969, when I was in high school, my science teacher was also the school's football coach, so he was too damn busy coaching his team of pre-frontally lobotomized baboons to teach science.

So, instead, he would set up the movie projector, turn off the lights, and go out the door, leaving us all sitting in the dark, watching a bunch of stupid cartoons.

I wanted to learn science DAMN IT!!! Not watch stupid cartoons.

Yeah! Fuck the NFL, and fuck ALL sports, especially sports in our schools.
And then, somebody posted a response to my first post, and I posted the following in response.
OK, I'm going to respond here in colored text.

There is plenty wrong with this picture.

Over the years I have heard of football players who have committed violent crimes, like rape, and have gotten away with it, with little or no punishment.

When I was in school, the jocks would bully the other students around and they went unpunished. I was once kicked in the testicles by some jock in my school, and after the pain subsided, I got back up on my feet, and I knocked the guy down and pounded his face in.

I got into trouble after I defended myself, but they guy who kicked me in the balls was never held accountable. The jocks were free to bully everyone around, but the rest of us were not allowed to defend ourselves.

Recently in Australia, a chubby kid named Casey Heynes defended himself from a schoolyard bully, picking the guy up and giving him a well executed body-slam. Although I'm not into sports, I can appreciate a good body-slam when I see one!

Anyway . . .

After that, Casey Heynes became a hero, and now everybody calls him "Casey The Punisher." Way to go kid! You did good!

But about a week later, I read in a NEWS article that some chicken-shit attorney plans to file criminal charges against Casey Heynes, and the kid may have to stand before a chicken-shit judge and then, maybe get hauled off to jail by some chicken-shit cops!

So, we're not allowed to defend ourselves from bullies, but athletes may bully people around, and do so with impunity.

Then these over privileged bullies get into professional sports where they have even more privileges heaped upon them.

No, I really don't believe that some drooling moronic slope-headed, slack-jawed, mouth-breathing, stooped-shouldered, knuckle-dragging baboon with shit-for-brains and a single digit IQ exceeded by his shoe size should ever get paid millions of dollars just for chasing balls.

There is much wrong with this picture.

Im sure your highschool experience from the 60/70's can really relate with the school system now. I had several teachers throughout my school years who were sport coaches and never had problems with them ditching class or failing to teach in anyway because of it.

Well, I do have a real problem with teachers ditching their classes to coach a football team, when they should be teaching in the classroom. Science and math are more important than sports. Education should be given top priority, academics over athletics.

When I was a kid, I was lousy at sports, because when I was 4 years old I was in a car accident, and my left knee was crippled up, so I was unable to run, and I walked with a limp. That's why I was lousy in PE when I was in school.

I once got suspended from school because I failed to climb a rope in the gymnasium, even though I was passing all of my other academic subjects, such as science, math, history, etc. etc.

No, I needed to study and pass in my academic subjects if I was to have any kind of decent future.

Sports was not an option.

But then, I hate sports anyway, and I love science, especially Astronomy.

So a teacher should make more money then an athlete. Should a construction worker who helps construct a school make more since the overall contribution of the facility would be more then what one teacher would contribute?

OK, I'm not saying that teachers or college professors should get paid millions of dollars every year either, but really good teachers do deserve better than they're getting right now.

Fuck! Most professional football players should be in jail anyway! But our legal system is corrupt, and our judges and juries are too fucking chicken-shit to prosecute them after they have committed crimes, and witness against them are often intimidated into keeping silent.

Lets not forget all the money that sports in high schools and colleges raise for other programs in their schools. Good teachers should be payed well, but lets not get ridiculous in expecting them to make what you and other anti-sports nuts are suggesting.

Uh, excuse me! But I have seen many high schools where they are either unable to get new equipment for their physics or chemistry labs, or have decided not to, because it's cheaper to put up new basketball hoops and buy new uniforms and football helmets.

And the money brought in by sports, very little may go for other programs, while most goes in for sports.

Yeah, I'm an anti-sports nut! OK?

But that's better than being some redneck yokel who goes around with his britches sliding half-way down on his ass exposing his butt-crack, coming home from church to his single axle trailer home, telling the rest of his family to shut the fuck up while watching football on TV, getting drunk swilling down that cheap Buckhorn beer, then after his favorite team loses the big game of the season, he beats the crap out of his wife and kids, rapes his daughters, kicks the cat, screws the pooch, and gives the goldfish and the parakeet cause for alarm.

Oh gee! Am I being too cynical now?
Then I got a couple of really intelligent responses from some of the forum members.

One calling me a dick for using green fonts, and another one telling me I should go step on a landmine.

Yeah, uh huh! A couple of real rocket scientists!

I'm personally surprised that, given the thread title, you didn't receive a more positive response. One may argue that your posts were extreme and had no place on a video-game discussion board but on a topic called "Fuck the NFL", what did they expect? It's practically an invitation for sports haters to come in and rail at this overhyped and over-financed institution, yet some of the denizens of the board are tearing your opinions apart on it, even over pointless, picky issues like text colour. I'm considering signing up later on to get my word in on the situation - I expect, though, that I will be banned because I'll go against some of what the members have been saying. Sound like a bunch of idiots to me. They started an anti-sports thread, but can't take the heat when a member from outside their forum finds out about it and expresses his views on the situation. Too bad.

I actually tried to sign up to their forum last night but their crappy server packed in just as I'd completed the registration form, so I just gave up. Seriously, though, I'm fascinated to know why a) they were so hostile to your presence on a thread which would obviously welcome your viewpoints (well, looking at the title you would ASSUME it would...) and b) why the hell defenders of sports would even bother posting on a thread called "Fuck the NFL" anyway. Why bother looking through stuff that attacks the things you like? I don't spend my time looking for people trashing old music. I saw a lot of talk on that thread that seemed somewhat like the sort of stuff you'd read on Encyclopedia Dramatica. Yes, the website whose demise we were celebrating before it returned in all its "glory" shortly afterwards. The internet does disappoint at times... :|

Same reason they come on our site, most likely!

I'm sure they feel they're "defending the honor" of "their" sport (the NFL), although most owners/coaches/players in the NFL certainly would never return the favor. :|
