Republican Bully David Prosser Applies Choke Hold On Woman!

Post by Fat Man »

OK, I have been debating as to whether or not I'm going to continue to post any more NEWS articles or any more political or educational science articles, or any more links to YouTube videos on science and evolution in the OFF-TOPIC section of our forums.

I have been discouraged by the spammers.

As a result of all these spam attacks, many of my articles have been pushed down off the bottom of the page, or my articles get spammed, and then, nobody wants to respond.

It's been very discouraging.

But, I have decided, no low-life spammer punk is going to break my spirit. Therefore, I'm going to continue to post, and I would like to see more responses from our forum members.

So, without any further ado, here is an article I read in my Salon Newsletter, and a link to said article.

David Prosser probably had a very good reason
for putting his hands on a colleague's neck

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser seems to have a bit of a temper! And he also seems to maybe have a bit of a history of verbally and perhaps physically attacking women. The latest, in case you haven't heard, has the conservative justice accused of putting a liberal colleague in a "chokehold." Here's the thing: Even the anonymous sources defending Prosser say he put his hands around Justice Ann Walsh Bradley's neck. They just say it was in self-defense.

Last year, Prosser screamed at a different (female) colleague, reportedly calling her a "bitch" and threatening to "destroy" her. When asked about all that, he blamed her for "goading" him into attacking her. That is classic psycho behavior, but I have to say that I did not expect Prosser to be accused of physical violence. And, you know, I wouldn't expect "these women keep forcing me to attack them" to continue working as an excuse for attacking colleagues, but I guess I'm underestimating the conservative movement! Because everyone is running with the "Prosser was forced to put his hands on her neck because she ran towards him" story. Fox Nation headline: "WI Judge Prosser Smeared?" Human Events blames "Big Labor" for forcing Prosser to attack his colleagues.

Here's Ann Althouse's (a law professor!) defense:

ALSO: People may assume that the man is larger than the woman, but â?? from what I have heard â?? Bradley is significantly larger than Prosser. Bradley is also 7 years younger than Prosser, who is 68.

Compelling!

Bradley isn't accused by anyone of laying a hand on Prosser. The case for Prosser is that Bradley came at him and he pushed her back in "defense," but everyone seems to agree that his hands did end up on her neck. I don't really think there's any justification for that! And attacking women and then blaming them for making you do it is how abusive assholes justify their behavior. Not that I know the facts of this horrible case. But I tend to side with the people who don't have a history of threatening to "destroy" people, because that is how comic book characters talk.

Anyway, now the right wants to recall Bradley, for attacking Prosser with her huge, terrifying neck.

Well, this just confirms what I have always believed, and that is, political conservatives are bullies and cowards!

No doubt, the bullies I had encountered when I was going to school, have all grown up to vote Republican. Yeah, the sole function of PE coaches was to beat our brains out so that we would grow up to become sports loving conservative morons.

Well, that didn't work on me. It only served to make me even more rebellious against our ultra conservative, religious fundamentalist, sports obsessed culture.

Anyway, here's some more. It just keeps on getting better.

Wisconsin justice says court fight
led to choking

One member of the state's high bench
accuses another of assault

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices David T. Prosser, Jr.
and Ann Walsh Bradley consider oral arguments during
a hearing regarding the state's budget bill at the
Wisconsin State Capitol, Monday, June 6.

A member of the Wisconsin Supreme Court's liberal faction has accused a conservative justice of choking her during an argument in her office earlier this month -- a charge he denied. Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh Bradley told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Justice David Prosser put her in a chokehold during the dispute. She contacted the newspaper late Saturday after Prosser denied rumors about the altercation. "The facts are that I was demanding that he get out of my office and he put his hands around my neck in anger in a chokehold," Bradley told the newspaper.

A message could not be left at her home listing, and her former campaign manager did not return a call from The Associated Press. Wisconsin Public Radio and the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, quoting anonymous sources, first reported the argument occurred before the Supreme Court's decision earlier this month upholding Republican Gov. Scott Walker's bill eliminating most of public employees' collective bargaining rights. Prosser then released a statement denying the allegations.

"Once there's a proper review of the matter and the facts surrounding it are made clear, the anonymous claim made to the media will be proven false," he said. "Until then I will refrain from further public comment." Prosser's spokesman Brian Nemoir declined to comment on Bradley's later statement and told The Associated Press that Prosser probably wouldn't either. Other members of the court either did not return messages or declined to comment on the incident.

The argument took place June 13, the day before the court, in a 4-3 decision that included a blistering dissent, ruled that Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi overstepped her authority when she declared the polarizing union law void. While accounts differ, the justices were apparently discussing the decision and its timing.

Leaders in the Republican-controlled Legislature had pushed for a decision by June 14 because they were working on the state budget, and Walker's proposal depended on expected savings from the law. Along with limiting most public employees' bargaining rights, it requires them to pay 12 percent of their health insurance costs and 5.8 percent of their pension costs.

Tens of thousands of people gathered for weeks at the Capitol to protest the proposal after Walker unveiled in February. Once it passed, opponents began to focus on Prosser's re-election campaign in the hope that by replacing him with a liberal justice, they could get the court to overturn the legislation.

Prosser, who had been expected to walk away with the election, found himself in a tight race with liberal challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg. Initial results showed she had defeated Prosser by about 200 votes, and she declared herself the winner the day after the election. Then a county clerk who once worked for Prosser announced she had failed to report 14,000 votes. A bitter and nearly month-long recount ended with Prosser's re-election. He defeated Kloppenburg by about 7,000 votes.

The recount ended about three weeks before the Supreme Court issued its opinion in the union case. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, quoting an anonymous source, said the argument erupted after Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson said she didn't know whether the opinion would be released in June. Prosser allegedly questioned Abrahamson's leadership, leading Bradley to defend her.

Prosser and Abrahamson, another of the court's liberal minority, had had problems before. Prosser told the newspaper in March that he had used profanity in a meeting the month before and threatened to destroy Abrahamson.

Bradley sent all the justices an email after that meeting, saying Prosser's behavior was unacceptable. She said later that she considered making a report to law enforcement but decided against it.

The Center for Investigative Journalism reported the altercation between Prosser and Bradley had been brought to the attention of the Wisconsin Judicial Commission, which investigates allegations of misconduct involving judges. The commission's executive director, James Alexander, said he couldn't confirm nor deny an incident was under investigation.
OK. This is a real hot-button issue for me.

When I was a kid, I grew up with a drunken stepfather who use to beat the holy crap out of my mother and I until one day, at the age of 15 when I hit 220 pounds, I was finally able to defend myself and my mother.

I wish I had been present when Supreme Court Justice David Prosser applied a choke-hold to Justice Ann Walsh Bradley. I would have put my cane across his teeth so hard that his lower jawbone would have swung around to the back of his neck, and for the rest of his fucking pathetic little life, he would have to suck mush through a straw!

I have yet to hear of any decent Republicans speaking out against David Prosser. That's because they're aren't any decent Republicans anymore. They're all a bunch of redneck drooling moronic anti-labor, anti-healthcare, anti-education, anti-science, woman-beating-baby-fuckers!

OK, now I just know, that this topic is going to get spammed or pushed down off the bottom of the page by these spammers before anybody else can post comments in response.

I'm sick and tired of our forums being disrupted by these two-bit penny-sluts who spread their legs apart for a nickle, and thinking that they will be paid by whoever is sponsoring them to spam our forums to provide them with some free advertising.

I wish all these morons would just die in their sleep tonight!

Now, is that too much to ask for?

Donâ??t let the bastards grind you down Fat Man, the spammer are just pests. Though they are persistent pests.

It seems like this Justice is a little bit imbalanced. There should be an investigation and if Prosser did it, he should be removed from office.

Fat Man, I know this is a sensitive topic, but you shouldnâ??t suggest to use violence to resolve the situation. Yes, I do believe Prosser should have been physically restrained, but not hit. It puts you on the same level as Prosser, and you shouldnâ??t sink to that.

That said, I hope Prosser loses his job.

Yes, I know what you mean.

But if I had stepped into the office and I saw some guy choking a women with his hands around her throat, in a situation like that, there's no time to think it through, you have to act fast, especially if the victim's life might be in danger.

So, I would have reacted by striking him with my cane, even if it meant going to jail for it. I would rather be sitting in jail with a clear conscience after having saved another person's life.

People have died from choke holds.

I have been choked a few times myself, and it a really frightening experience.

Because if it, I can't wear neck ties, unless it's the kind that clip on and not the kind you have to tie, because having something snug-fitting around my neck triggers off some bad memories.

Anyway, thanks for responding.

I hope to get more responses to my topic.

Wow. It sounds like you did something very honourable there, Fat Man. I bet your mother was grateful, I hope you were proud, and I hope your drunken stepfather went down in a screaming heap!
