well, for the most part. I'll still make a post from time to time.
When I got here this forum was for the most part dead, so I did get a rise out of some of you.
However, at the beginning i saw a point, but I no longer see one. You guys being against something so harmless is weird and very selfish. One person made the point that doing away with athletes would give them more useful jobs, like being a doctor, or astronaut, or fighting aids. That's all fine and well, but a lot of these athletes don't have the money to get into college unless it's on scholarship, because they are poor and grew up in a bad neighborhood. I don't expect people who whine about even hearing sports and talk about it as suffering to understand that though.
Why do you guys hate sports? I don't know. For many of you I know for a fact it's because you weren't apart of that clique in high school, and now you are forever bitter towards sports. The rest of you, I really don't know. Some of you just plain out don't like sports, and there's a few of you that kind of seem on the weird side.
The bottom line is, NOTHING WILL CHANGE. You act like sports are harming people, when in reality, aside from sports injuries, they only help. The economy is terrible. With numerous amount of sports leagues there are from high school to pro do you realize how many jobs that creates? Not only do you have the coaches and players, you also have front office, your announcers, people that work in the stadium, people that do ticket sales. Sports create a very, very large amount of jobs. 50 people(im being generous here, you guys have about 5-10 that seem dedicated) aren't going to overcome billions upon billions of people across the world who absolutely love sports. Hate sports all you want, but be realistic guys.
When some of you think of someone saying they don't watch sports as triumphant, you know you're in trouble.
I'm willing to bet you guys have gave up on this in 10 years.
