Keanu Movie Upsets Football Fans

Angry football fans are boycotting Keanu Reeves' new film after watching their stadium being destroyed in a trailer for the sci-fi thriller.

Bayern Munich supporters were furious when an advert for The Day The Earth Stood Still was broadcast on the club's giant TV screens.

It showed the Arena stadium they were sitting in being wiped out by aliens.

The German champions said they knew nothing of the scene until it appeared in the match-day trailer.

"We were not informed and were also not asked for permission," said the club's media director Markus Hoerwick.

"It is not to our benefit for the Arena to be represented in such a way. We will now examine whether and how we react to it."

The film, in which Reeves plays the alien Klaatu who comes to save Earth from itself, has been largely ridiculed by critics.

The Wall Street Journal said the movie, a remake of a 1951 film, was "insufferably full of itself".

But it became a box office hit on its debut weekend in North America, taking $31m in ticket sales in the US and Canada.

It marks Reeves' biggest opening since The Matrix Revolutions in 2003, the third film in the Matrix series.

No replies to at the time of writing, but I'm sure some sports bores will come along to call him a fag and other crap. Another non-sports fan is out there. Why do the sports bores who come on here assume that we're the sole collection of sports haters? There are loads out there who just haven't found this website, yet.

I'm just wondering. React to what? Special effects made it look like your stadium was destroyed! If anything, I'd say that it promotes your worthless pile of shit building. People might want to go see the stadium that was 'destroyed' in the movie.
