if you're not lying, I give you credit because cross country is tough.

I'm willing to bet you're the exception and not the rule here though.

I do respect the fact that it is a very tough sport.
That's not what I meant heh. It's alright to come out anytime.

none of you really have any idea. And no, barely trying in gym class doesn't count.
Lol, that's alot of bullshit. You think all of us just magically skipped out of gym class?

Suffered under Darth Sidius, electrocuted, survived and partied with Ewoks. He descended to the Death Star, on the third hour he flew out in an Imperial ship and landed on Endor. He is seated on the right hand of Obi-Wan's ghost. He will come again to train Leia to be a Jedi. We believe? in Yoda.........:D

heres a movie quote from Al pacino that sums up why sports are great:

"You know, when you get old, in life, things get taken from you. I mean, that's... that's... that's a part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losin' stuff. You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the fucking difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. And I know, if I'm gonna have any life anymore it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that's what living is, the six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen, and either, we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals."

I got my team picture if you want proof. I'll admit I sucked at Cross Country though, but I still finished the races and all. I don't know if this is always true but I think Cross Country types tend to be more open minded than a lot of people, probably why I was receptive to some stuff here.

umm.. that was a MOVIE, you nut! A writer wrote those words and Al Pacino, who is an actor, recited them out loud, as if they were his own words. That's acting. In real life, Al Pacino doesn't watch football! :o

He's way too cool.

Heck, in movies, all sports look fun, fulfilling, and like something that'll get you into great and shape and you'll be good at if you try hard enough. Mostly fiction in my case, except the in shape part.

An example of a movie natmanhan is talking about is The Longest Yard. I only liked the movie because it showed the true nature of sports lovers - total dimwitted and silly idiots.

A lot of people in my Christian youth group liked that one and my youth pastor, who played American football in high school and now plays tennis, liked that movie. He also used it as an example of how to be a good Christian somehow. Personally I'm an agnostic, formerly atheist, the idea that there certainly isn't a god became too troubling for me to handle but I still consider it a rational position.

I don't know many people who watched the movie since I don't get out much. I certainly don't go to church - I'm a total atheist.

I recommend reading this site: http://whywontgodhealamputees.com/
You always hear about miracles like a disease magically healing but these people NEVER get a break(no pun intended).
